bought 2001 accord
Saw the battery cable was corroded so i removed and cleaned it
now, of course, my cd player wants a code.
Car is used and there are no codes written anywhere.
Manual says get serial number and call for code
where is the serial number?
is there anything else i can do?

try pulling out your ashtry and looking under it. Thats where my code is in the teg

 

There is no ash tray..i tried in the glove box..both fuse panels in car and under hood..under coin holder.
It's the factory stereo.

I gUESS i'm gunna have the pull the damn thing apart to get the serial on the back of the stereo.

wut a riduculous idea...anti theft for an OEM stereo that screws with more owners than actual thieves

it's SUNDAY and there's no way to get the code till monday.

no ashtry?? HUH?? what kinda car is it? A dealer could probably have told you by your VIN not the stereo serial#

 

pull the radio, take it to honda, and they will give you the code
