Default cd player acting up...

I have a JVC deck in my car. Its about 3 years old? Lately its been getting finicky playing cd's. First it stopped playing cdr's, but 'oem' cd's were fine. Then a week later it was fine. Now this week [colder weather arrives...?] its back to not playing any cds.

When i put a cd in, it just sits there with the track number and never just starts playing the song. Sometimes it starts to play fragments of it, similar to when you are downloading a video on dial up and it takes forever to get it to play all the way through.

What do you think i am looking at here? Is there a maintenance cleaning it might need? OR do you think its shitting the bed on me?

Buy a new cd player, it's not hard. After 3 years, I would think its about time anyway.

Ever think about pulling it out and taking it to get looked at?? Might need the laser to be realigned which doesn't cost a lot.
