capacitor question
ok i just wanted to know what you guys recomend on what size cap i should get so i don't have problems with the system killing my alternator. i will be having 2 amps pushing 1500 watts rms any suggestions will be appreciated
1 farad for every 500W RMS is a good rule of thumb, although ideally you would only install the cap(s) "on" the sub amp, your high-pass amp does not need the kind of "on demand" current the sub amp does.

you dont necessarily need a cap.. if your car is having trouble powering the amps.. the cap is jus going to give your electrical system one more thing to worry about, battery upgrade > cap. capacitor has not been proven to increase any sq or spl... ask anyone that competes in audio, no caps, but batteries and improvements to the electrical system, yes.
