Default Building a ported enclosure

Alright, I've built several sealed boxes no problem, and completely understand calculating volume, and the basics. But I'm just getting bored and am wanting to try building a ported box to see if I can increase the SPL. I have 2 Pioneer TS-W33c subwoofers. I lost the manual a number of years ago, after building the boxes. My real question is how do I determine where and how to build the port? Some ports are rectangle and some are round, which is best? Thanks.

The speakers are TS-W303C i assume?
Shape of the vent doesn't matter, it's up to you. Dimensions matter though.

As for the box, my software suggests the following:

Name: TS-W303C
Type: Standard one-way driver
Company: Pioneer Electronics Inc.
No. of Drivers = 2
Mounting = Standard
Wiring = Separate

Box Properties (High Fidelity Variant)
Name:
Type: Vented Box
Shape: Prism, square (optimum)
Vb = 6.163 cu.ft
Fb = 26.82 Hz
QL = 5.878
F3 = 35.31 Hz
Fill = minimal
No. of Vents = 1
Vent shape = round
Vent ends = one flush
Dv = 127.5 mm
Lv = 190.3 mm

Box Properties (High Output variant)
Name:
Type: Vented Box
Shape: Prism, square (optimum)
Vb = 2.008 cu.ft
Fb = 36 Hz
QL = 6.784
F3 = 52.28 Hz
Fill = minimal
No. of Vents = 1
Vent shape = round
Vent ends = one flush
Dv = 147.7 mm
Lv = 578.9 mm

The first variant has much better amplitude response curve.

no, actually it is a TS-W33c sub. Not the 303c. It's a 450w sub. I cannot find the manual online or anywhere

You need the specs. Then download a program called WinISD. It is a box building program. Input the specs, set the tuning frequency, set the port size, and it will do the math for you. Also the type of port isn't really important, but calculating for the correct port is.

I searched for about an hour with no results. Your best bet is to just call pioneer up and ask them. They should give the specs to you without a problem.
