Battery relocation help
I'm building an h22 ef crx and having a mental block on how to run the wires.. I have heard that you have to run a wire from your alternator to the kill switch and if so which wire is it.. I dont understand it cause the car doesn't have this before the battery is relocated, isn't it all grounded out through the fuse box ground.. any info would be extremely helpful because as soon as the battery is relocated my project is complete for the time being..
Ground the batt. to a good ground point as close to batt. as possible, run a lead, [4ga or bigger] from the batt. pos.(+) to the starter motor solenoids batt. input, [big terminal] run an 8ga lead from that same terminal to the under hood fuse box, [where the batt. was connected before]. your done.
As for an on/off switch, it is not needed, but I would install a fuse on the power cable, close to the batt., use an ANL type fuse, if using a 4ga cable use a 150A fuse, if you run a 2ga cable you can use a 225A fuse and a 1/0 gauge will allow the use of a 350A fuse.
Use the same gauge cable for power and ground, and replace the chassis to motor ground with the same gauge cable

Thanx for the input. also where is the best place to mount the battery i was thinking right behind the passenger seat in front if the wheel well..
Well the best place is the stock location, that's why Honda put it there.
If your installing a bigger batt, then can be installed in the stock location. or the stock location can not be modified, [new batt. box/mount] to fit the bigger batt. then I guess you can put it anyplace, for racing purposes it is placed where the weight will do the most good with a cutoff, [kill] switch accessible from the outside rear of the car.
Even if you are not racing the car you should have a fuse or breaker in the power cable within 18" of the batt.
Where ever you end up putting it it must be secured and in a batt. box that is vented outside, [if it is a "drycell" Optima type batt. a box is not needed]
I have installed a 2nd batt. behind behind the pass. and drivers seats and in the middle, CRX security tray removed replaced with amp rack.
