battery keeps dieing..?
for the past few months my battery has been constantly going dead after leaving my car sit for a day or two.. so a few weeks ago i went out and bought a deep cell battery and moved it to the trunk hoping that i just had a bad battery... however the other day it started going dead again for no reason??.
the only thing i can think of is that my in dash screen and dvd player are wired to constant power... but i always turn everything off when i leave the car..
is this whats causing my car to die.. or is there something else im not thinking of??

Something is drawing power, and if you turn off the DVD and screen they should not be drawing anything, but on the other hand, the may be in some kind "ready mode" as long as there is power on the units acc. wire, why not just disconnect the power to the DVD and screen and see if the problem goes away.
It's a fair amount of draw to kill the batt. in a day or two.

yeah i didnt think that the draw from my stereo components would be near enough power to kill the battery in a couple days.. but im not sure.. ill try disconnecting the power like you said and then go from there.
if you or anyone else can think of another possibility.. let me know
thanks

Oh yea it can be more then enough.
There is a "low tech" way to test and see if you have a draw on your batt., turn everything off, disconnect power for amps, now disconnect the neg. (-) batt. term. and gently touch it to the batt. post, on/off, do that a few times in a row, you should get a small spark the first time you touch it , but the 2nd or 3rd or 4th time there should be no spark.
This works better in a darker place then full daylight, you can then, [if you keep getting a spark] disconnect the things you suspect may be drawing power, like the DVD and screen.
