Default backup battery replacement

well as the title states i was wondering about a backup battery replacement since i've read there have been so many issues with the battery that comes with the DEI 520T, will another 12 volt battery with 1.3Ah be sufficient to replace it? any other input u guys have would be great thanks

If your on a budget use the dei battery till it fails then replace. If your doing a full stealth install were you removing the dash its better to swap it now. I used that size battery and it will charge fine. I been trying all kind of batteries till I can find the one that will work better. I have a couple of members letting me use there alarm setup as text car. So in the next couple of months I will update my thread I started. Best thing to do is full charge the battery before you install it. That helps out alot with any battery. If you don't have a charger. Drive the car for a hour or let it run in the driveway or where ever for 30 min.

I wouldn't go much larger than a 12V 1.3ah lead acid for a backup battery.

the one i got isn't too much larger than the one that comes with the 520t so i put it along with the brain of the alarm, as long as you have the brain hidden well there should be no worries because if a thief finds either item then you're screwed regardless.
