AVIC-N3 BYPASS?
hey guys well i was wondering if anyone here knows how to do the bypass to watch dvds my n3 was made in feb 06 i heard alot of rumores so im confused do i just ground somthing or do i have to peel a sticker and remove switch or do i soilder etc etc.... please give some input thanks......
you have to take the metal chassie off of the radio and you will see a sticker. Use a heatgun (if ya wanna keep your warrenty) to peal it back and flip it. TADA...that is the secret. hope that this helps!

So let me get this straight... I use a heatgun to flip a sticker over and this bypasses the safety device on the unit allowing me to wreck my car or kill myself and/or innocent people so I can watch movies while I drive?

this is gotta be the stupidest post i'v ever seen, look when you are driving 500+ miles and you got kids on the back seat they gotta be entertained now i think this federal law bS is dumb! why? simple if law is thinking driver gets distracted well then the gps navi it self is distracing!!!
now i can just buy a d4mm laptop put it on front driver side and play it and thats distracing, would i be dumb to do it ???
i think its common sense and who ever post **** like this is well an 4$$ , pioneer/ eclipse and w/e else companys make the product shold just add an end user agrrement that they are not liable for driver crashing for being distracted and from there legaly allowing to watch movies .... i mean whats the purpose of adding an in dash dvd navi if you cant watch it on the go? just to be in parked ? plelase !!! now another thing is the gov /law is again stupid when you can buy portable dvd players and mount them!!!!
oh hey i just thought of something hey let me buy a 20'' + lcd see whre im going???? those mobile/video devices made by those brands is just as well as radear scanners they allow you to do certain things but its your responsibility to think commonly sense like such "why would i go 100+ on a curved??? cuz i see no cops oh lets kill time"
right however most of us know that in freeways theirs a limit of 55 in certain areas thats empty and it should be 80 lol and yes its true.....
again the navi it self is distracing but its all common sense, mods please excuse me for saying language not allowed but its smart *** like him that cause alot of trouble. pm me mods for discussing of this if you feel , and please let the thread open i really need this info otherwise im gonna return the unit buy a in home dvd player put it on with a new lcd and have the back seat people watch'em or buy laptop/portble dvd player

Then buy a dvd system for the rear passengers, with monitors that strap to the headrests.
BTW, your "rant" made absolutely no sense...

Your rant makes no logical sense. Most units like that have rear outputs to feed sencondary monitors for just that purpose. I don't get the logic of many of you: there are end user discalimers all over the place, but with the right legal representation thats an afterthought. What you need to do is stand back and really think this through-"what if I have an accident, can I afford the legal bills, lawsuits and possible jail time"? I gather you probably did'nt...hell its the furthest thought from your mind. Don't feel bad...many don't either. I get asked daily on how to bypass it daily...and many try to pursuade me. My response is the same to everyone:I bring up OJ and Ron Goldman and the civil settlement-that normally does it .
right so to get the rear headrest to match the color and matirial thats a custom job!!! please go away as i dont need negitive post or useless information.... i know i want to do the bypass did you tell me how? no then please atlest dont reply to this thread i clearly just asking to bypass it its my issue if i get in trouble not you and im aware of it ok!

No need to get all butthurt, man...
And no one said anything about matching colors and materials or custom jobs. I was referring to the portable DVD players with screens that strap to the headrests, similar to these:

However, it's fairly obvious that you're hell bent on the in-dash route. I feel sorry for your children for two reasons. First, that their father cares more about bling in his dash than their safety, and second, that they'll have to watch a 7" screen from the back seat. That's like having a 27" TV at the movie theater...
For less than half the price of the in-dash unit (after you get done buying dash kit & wiring), you could have a portable system with two screens that they could actually see, with headphones so you can still listen to what you want...
