anyone have any audio setups in hatchbacks..? is there enough trunk room for subs and amp?
also i heard that some hatches dont have speaker outlets in the back, how do u deal with that? thanks!

 

I got a setup in my 93 hatch. Ya, there is enough room in the trunk for subs and amps, i got two 12's in a sealed box in the back. Most of the space is taken up because of the box, so i dont really got much trunk space left. Most of 5th gen hatches didnt come with any rear speaker outlets including my hatch. I tried looking for the side panels with the speaker outlets already cut in, but i couldnt find them at any dealership that i checked in my area, to solve this problem i cut holes in the cargo cover and placed the speakers in there, thats what most people do.

 

I have a 93 Si. If you want any trunk you need to go with small/one sub. I have one JL10W3 and I think it's loud as nuts for just the one sub. Even that sub in tha box will take up almost half your trunk. Check it out:

You can make brackets for the rear speakers if you cannot locate the Honda speaker plastic mounts. The only problem is you will get zero midbass out of them because there is no enclosure acting on them. I'd show you a pic, but I don't have one of the rears.
