Audio people??
if theres anyone good with stereos and at least has some knowledge of speakers i was woundering if you could give me advice.
One of my speakers is blown in my civic. took it out and the white sort of paper-like membrane is separating from this rubber housing.. it looks as if it was simply glued on there?
my question is.. will the speaker still function properly if the membrane were to be glued back down? or will it still give that poping sound?

Are you serious?
No, glue will NOT work.
Buy a new pair of speakers, and replace both.

no problem.
Buy really, if you buy a new set, you won't have audio quality problems like crackling anymore. And they will also sound better than the original speakers did when they were brand new

I agree. The price on OEM quality speakers is rediculously cheap these days. Pay the $30 for a new set and upgrade. Its not worth taking the time to glue a hole in a dry-rotted speaker, that will just tear more in days.
Jus buy a new pair Ive been doing car audio for 9yrs. If it is the front speakers they call for a 5 1/4 but I always go 6 1/2 with a little trimming of the black basket...

well it can be glued back down. the sound quality depends on the condition of the speaker already. if teh speaker is in good shape and it sperated clean it should be fixable. but if its an original speaker id just replace it. ive glued speakers before and theyve sounded great. but like i said it depends on the speaker.

You can pick up a good set of speakers for quite a bit less than that. Definitely check out online vendors and do a bit of research/comparing before you buy.

im very intrested in these cause they are 4 and 2 ohm compatible or so it says
and they are a match in specs and make, however not model.
Is $70.00 a reasonable price for these?
