audio modification for 95 teg
ok so, i have a 95 teg, that doesnt have tweeters in the door panels normally, however, i picked up a set of door panels that DO contain tweeters, and i wanted to wire the tweeters on the same speaker line that powers the 6 1/2 inch in the door, will i be able to get sound off the tweeter by wiring directly into that section of the harness? And, the tweeters are blown out, where can i find suitable replacements that wont require modification?

You are going to need a cross-over if you want to add tweeters. Are you door speakers aftermarket? You can replace that factory speaker with a slue of aftermarket units. I would look into a nice component set.

A crossover splits the signal and sends the low-pass music to the woofer, and the high-pass to the tweeter.
Are your Kenwoods coaxils?
Or separates/components?
You can see the tweeter, woofer and crossovers for these here.

Re: audio modification for 95 teg
like i said my original plan was to just add a set of wires onto where i soldered in the new speaker wires for the kenwoods (since the connectors were cut from the harness when i got it) however from what i read about crossovers (passive and active) i want to filter out midrange and low sounds from the tweeters receiving wires?

yeah.. u will need something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/1-Pair-New-Bass-...item439bacc718
but imo its not worth the trouble might as well buy a new component set all together..

So you are taking out the tweeters in your 3 ways and you're going to put them in the OE location?
You don't needcrossovers, these speakers already have them built in somewhere. Usually it is just a capacitor in series with the tweeter.
If you saved the receipt, I would return those speakers and get a set of components if you really want to have your tweeters in the OE location. If you screw up the speakers trying to take them out, then you are stuck with a new pair of speakers that aren't worth anything.

Your missing the point here... the coaxil Kenwoods you bought already have a tweeter in them. You don't need a second set in the OEM location...
If you really want to put tweeters in that OEM spot, you should change those Kenwood coaxils with a set of components to get the best sound, the correct way. Just adding tweeters isn't going to make anything sound better.

Yes, i am aware of the fact that the kenwoods i bought have them already...your missing the point. I WANT a second set of tweeters in the oem tweeter location, thats why i bought door panels that expressly had them, all i want to know is what is the proper wiring method for putting them along side what i already have, and what would be a good replacement for the OEM ones that will fit in the OEM location with the OEM mount.

OK, before everyone drives you nuts, the correct way is to wire the tweeters in parallel with the Kenwoods, the stock tweeter should have a "cap" on them already, no other "crossover" is needed.
With that said, the other posters have a point, a 2nd set of tweeters, [3rd set] so far away from the others will cause phase shift and time alignment problems, effecting the sound stage and imaging, you may not like it, but then again you may not care. 94

BULLS*#%! ^^^
Not only can you get tweeters, [raw tweets] that will fit the stock grills/mounts, [minor mods may be needed] there are also component sets that have tweeters that will fit.
Forget that for now, you already have a set of tweeters, [that fit] make sure there is a cap on them and connect them up, [in parallel with the Kenwoods] best way is to run the tweeters speaker leads down to the Kenwood speakers and connect them to the stock speaker leads there.
Try it out, it can't hurt anything except SQ, and SQ is subjective, it's also not going to cost you anything to try it.
Hint... before you connect the tweeters, pop in some of your favorite music and have a listen, connect the tweeters up and listen again, then reverse the polarity of the tweeters, [switch the pos.(+) and neg.(-) speaker leads for the tweeters around so the tweeters are wired out of phase with the Kenwoods] then listen to the music again, pick the way you think sounds the best.
You will have to come to your own conclusion as to which way sounds better, [in phase or out of phase] you may also come to understand why most are telling you it will sound like crap, then again, SQ is subjective. 94
