Default amp help

Hey guys, I have a question regarding a 97' honda accord. As I was driving, I noticed a weird high-pitched electrical noise coming from the speakers. I took it to the honda place, and they told me the noise was feedback from the amp coming through the speakers. However, they said that they could not touch the amp since its not made by honda(its an Alpine).

Anyway, does anyone know how to adjust the amp so that it does not emit this noise? If it helps, the noise increases as the engine RPM's go up.

Thanks!

How did you wire the wires back to your amp? did you run the remote wire with power wire? or seperate them.

You may need to find a better spot to ground off your wire

find a good spot to ground the amp, sand the paint off and make sure teh end connecter is crimped tightly to the wire before you secure it to ground.

re-grounding is a good idea. but if you amp isn't tuned right it will make it have altenator noise. re-tune your amp.

the sound is "alt.wine" there many reasons for it. bad grounds one of them. a ground loop [diff.in ground bet.amp and headunit ,RF radeated into your stereo wiring . mismatch of eqep. as i dont know how the system is wired ,or what you have. ill give you the basics 1 match system comp.whenever possable,2 use and run the proper wire,in the proper place ,power wire ga.big enough for amp,run down the power side of car [almost always drivers side] good RCAs [not those cheap thin black ones] run away from power wiring [down center of car best place] good grounds for amp/amps [as close to amp as possable seat, seatbelt bolts are very good] amp trig.wire [ 20/22 ga. ok, only 125/250 ma dosent matter how run [shortest is best] also run a 14/16 ga wire w/trig wire [may need for grounndloop chasis of deck to chasis of amp . hope this helps 94

They mean turn your gains down. An amplifier gets more sensitive to noise as the gains are turned up higher. This is the primary reason you want an amplifier that puts out more power than you need(called headroom). That way you can have the gains lower and still achieve maximum volume with less noise.

I'm guessing it is an install problem though. Do an internet search on alternator whine.
