Default Alarm system problem

I bought my car months ago with a Viper alarm system and it worked great. Now its not as sensitive as before, It feels like its getting weaker and weaker. How can i get it to be as sensitive as before? Is it dying?

Whta exactly do you mean getting weaker? Is the signal for the remote getting weaker or are you referring to sensitivity of the alarm.

The sensitivity is getting weaker, before anything would set it off but now it doesnt even go off at all.

Try adjusting the sensitivity of the shock sensor. But you dont want it too sensitive because then you will be getting false alarms.

I have a spare shock sencer, If yours is bad come pick it up. But I doubt it, Out of all the years I have be doing alarms thoses are the last to go, I have only replaced two, one was broke and the other got kicked or something.

Well, you could begin by looking under the dash on the drivers side... DEI shock sensors like to be zip tied to a wiring harness. They're a little rectangular box made of clear plastic, and a red LED will illuminate if you tap it...

There's an adjustment pot on it, too, and it should be labeled + and -... Turn it GENTLY with a small screwdriver toward the + to increase sensitivity... Turn it only a degree or two each time and test after each adjustment. When you reach the desired level of sensitivity, you're done.
