Default alarm system help

I have a Rattler 300 and I'm trying to install it myself. I got most of the wires except for the ground. Does the ground have to touch the car or can it just touch any metal? For the horn does it matter which color goes on what for the brain? If the remote has been program before, do I still need to program it since it's going into another car? If I don't install all the wires will the alarm still make any noises? (It's only attached to the battery and the horn.) If you guys can try to answer most of my question it would be helpful. Thanks

lets see... yes no yes yes yes no no yes, lol, just kidding... to ground it, you can ground it to about any metal, the piece of metal that the dash bezzles bolts to is fine for grounding... yes it matter what color you use for the horn, use the designated color, look in the manual for that... you'll probbaly need to reprogram the alarm if it's been taken out the car unless the brain has a memory that keeps it in there even when it's disconnected from power... no you wont get noises if all the wires are used, most harnesses have 13 harnesses and only 5 wires are used, just electrical tape the ones that arent being used to clean up the install...

you shouldn't ahve to reprogram. Just think about how long it sat on the shelf at the store before you baught it w/o power.... you wire it up and *bing* the remote works.

As for the horn, make sure you get it right. Nearly every alarm i've put into a honda to use the factory horn I've needed a relay, as the alarm's siren is designed to run off of 12V's, which is what the brain puts out. Honda uses a ground to control the horn relay
