Alarm sensitivity?
I'm not really satisfied with my alarm and its lack of sensitivity. It takes a big thump before it'll actually go off. I was recently hit at my work parking lot and the stupid thing didn't even go off. Now is there any way to get it so that for example you lean on it, it will go off (like making it more sensitive) Or do i just need to get a new alarm??
Any answer will help!

Where exactly should the sensor be placed if your decided location is the e-brake area? Under the carpeting, on the console? Just need an idea of where to relocate my sensor.
If going with an additional sensor, where would the optimal location be for placement?
Thanks.

Using DEI technology (Viper), not so confident in the abilities of my shock sensor....It seems to be more sensitive to lower impact (i.e kicking tires, attempts of lifting vehicle) but not so much to window impacts, mirror folding or upper frame impacts.
I have also noticed a difference in responsiveness in respect to topology and how it may affect the sensor. Firm roadway structure (roads, driveways) are more responsive to my sensor than for instance pebble driveways or dirt patched driveways.
Like I stated previsouly, my confidence is not all there therefore thinking of adding another sensor or mounting existing one in different location. Whats your opinion ?
BTW
(found my sensor hiding under dashboard, attached with tiewrap.....factory authorized installers huh....Go figure.....)

Actually with the DEI shock sensors that are external (the clear ones not built into the alarm brain) im pretty sure that its recommended by DEI to attatch this shock sensor to a vehicle harness with a wire tie, and not to the chassis of the vehicle. The sensor was designed to be attatched at that point of the vehicle, and in my 3 years of installation and sales, I havent seen a problem with it, and it has fairly consistant detection from both front and rear of the vehicle. Try that if its not attatched like that right now, should solve your problem, just attatch it to the ignition harness with a wire tie.
