alarm problem (remote engine start)

Default alarm problem (remote engine start)

i just got an alarm (X plore xr-7025) when i hook up the engine start and press the button on the alarm pager the starter just keep going and going. what do you think its the problem??.. the guy that installed said it was the alarm brain..

BTW this isnt in a honda its on a jeep cherokee

The brain doesn't know that the car is started and it's hanging the starter... Relearn the tach signal, or if you didn't run the tach wire, run it and program it.

and i find that tach wire runnin from the ecu to the cluster?

I think on those jeeps you need to go to the dizzy or an injector for tach...

Can also get true tach signal at the PCM, which is under the hood, high on the passenger side firewall. It's gray/blue.

However, if you use an injector wire, go to any injector, but tap the wire that's not common. Meaning, on all injectors, there will be 2 wires, one of which will be the same on every one. Use the uncommon one and you'll be fine.

now would u guys be so kind and help me understand how to connect the power locks.. i heard i need some sort of resistors? or relays?

Well according to http://www.bulldogsecurity.com and http://www.the12volt.com they are Type "A" [positive trigger] lock is orange/purple and unlock is pink/purple and they can be found at the black plug behind driver's kick panel, if your alarm/remote start does not have pos. (+) door lock outputs you will have to install relays, like this http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page1.asp to change the neg. output to a pos. output 94
