Default Alarm ignition connection...

My Viper alarm has been acting up lately. It will arm itself if the car is on and not moving (doors closed). Im guessing that the ignition connection is messed up b/c the alarm should not work when the key is in the on position right? Well I found where the connection is (95 Civic, by the interior fusebox) but I sort of remember that some of the connections are for the key in the acc. position and the others are for the key in the on position. Can anyone help me out?

Your alarm is in passive arming mode, it arms itself. You should have a book that tells you how to get it out of it. I will try and find a manual around here... I believe it's a switch on the brain that puts it in passive (arms itself), and active (you must arm/disarm). What model Viper is it?
What is your concern with the ignition wire? If it's hooked up right it should work when the key is in the "run" position.
If all else take it to where you got it put in and have them change it Viper has a lifetime warranty. If the shop is cool you shouldn't have to pay for it.

the ignition input of the alarm could be bad. here's an easy test....arm your alarm and see what happens when you turn the key to the ignition or ON position. if the alarm doesn't go off, you either have a bad ignition connection to the brain or a defective ignition input inside the brain.

go to viper's website... they have pdf files and all you need is the installation guide. you use your remote, key, and valet button to "program" your alarm. good luck
