When you say it doesn't work, do you mean it doesn't respond to the transmitter?

What do you have the ignition input wired up to?

Well it sounds like you have the door locks wired properly, [ign. controlled door locks are working] not sure why the are programed on, factory default is off.

You do not use the key to get into option program mode.
Ign. controlled door locks are in "Programming Menu #2 (Security Options)" 2/5.

Turning the ign. key on and off 5 times is used for programing the remotes, putting system into valet mode, and emergency override.
You may be turning the key on and off, [leaving it on the 5th time] too fast or too slow, it also has to be done uniformly, [evenly] Hint... after the first time you turn it to run, [ign.] only turn it back to acc., not all the way back off.

Do you not have the Installation Guide and the User Guide?
What other problems are you having?
Where did you get the Compustar?

I have installed more then a few Compustars, and I know option programing is a bit of a pain for the first timer when not using the programmer, but if you read the instruction it's not that hard.
Feel free to IM me if you need more help. 94

it dosent respond at all, the remote does nothing, the ignition sensing wire is hooked into the blk/yellow wire in the igniton harness that is 12v keyed and when cranking

It sounds like the controlers are not programed. They do not come pre-programed to the brain.
