Which alarm?
hey guys. i just moved back from southern california to modesto, ca. modesto is #1 in stolen cars. there was actually an article about it in this months car and driver. okay, i have a crx, no power door locks or windows. im looking for an alarm without power features or auto start features. i am wanting a 2 way pager system with back up battery, 2-3 sirens, starter kill, and proximity sensor. i have been reading quite a bit of recent and archived posts but most OPs want auto start, or roll up window features, etc. i would like a decent range on the 2 way pager.
i was reading the post on the kiramek alarm systems, they seemed pretty interesting. not sure if i could find an installer in northern california. so what model should i look into. any suggestions on other features i should add or look for?

the last 2 pages talk about kiramek, and vision. companies from japan. i will call superautobacs tomorrow (in la area) and see if they carry their alarms. suspendedhatch talked about it. i live on a busy street so the idea of the sensor not going off for any little thing is appealing. so far, the recommendation i saw was for a viper alarm 5000 in the 22 page alarm thread. compustar 2wss-a and omega crimeguard 745i from suspended hatch's site

i called super autobacs (after being on hold for a while and calling back). they dont carry the vision or kiramek alarms. they do have viper and autopage? alarms.
so it looks like it will be between the compustar 2wss-a and the viper 5000. both can be found for for about 220 online.
i sent vision an email about their alarms to find out more information

i thought that was only for the compustar alarms. damn..... well that sucks. any reputable shops that do great installs in northern, central california that you know of? i was thinking about seeing if suspended hatch could do the install, but too bad i already moved back from imperial valley, i was only 2 hours from san diego. i dont really feel like another 10 hour drive any time soon. i have already made about 8 trips back and forth and i am pretty wore out for a while
