Default Adding subwoofer to OEM system

I just bought a new Accord, and am debating how much of my old sound system I should put in it. I have the following to work with: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1257457&page=1

The Accord has the 120 watt, 6 speaker factory system with xm and dual climate control. Because of this, I can't swap out the factory head unit, as I will lose the a/c display that is integrated into it. I don't know if the system uses a small amp of its own, but, with only 120 total watts, I doubt it.

The factory system sounds ok and I am kind of leaning towards just adding my 10w7 and amp to it. If I do this, will I have to sacrifice my rear-channel speakers to provide an input for the sub? If I just tap into one of the channels, and use a line converter to get rca output, will the sub volume be dependent on the volume of whatever channel I use? Can a potentiometer or something similar be used to adjust the sub volume independently?

I guess the most important question is what is the best way to accomplish this, and is it worth adding a high-end sub to a mediocre-at-best factory system.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

First what year is your accord? I carry metra kit that puts a aftermarket radio in your car

You can put a sub in that car easly. If you don't want to swap the radio just get your self a good line drop and pull of of the rear speaker, most good line drops have built in pots to control gain. If your amp has a remote gain control you can use that to control the level of you subs, good luck, Desmon-PrecisionMobileSoundwerks.
