Adding a CD changer??
Right now I have a '96 Integra RS and it has a 6-disc Acura CD Changer. I love it. But, I'm selling my car and I want to leave it in there to maybe make the car more appealing to potential buyers. But, when I get my '98 GS-R, while I will have a CD player in the dash, I'd still like to have a CD changer in the trunk so I always have (at least) 6 discs on tap for whatever I want to listen to plus whatever CD I bring with me. The question is, can this be done with the stock CD player (I'm almost 100% sure it can--I mean, the web site seems to indicate that it can be done very easily) and, more importantly, do I have to get a factory changer to do it?
If I didn't get a factory changer, what else could I get? How do I know it will work with the existing place for a changer in the Integra (presumably I'd want to use existing wiring and that protective bar and all that)? Is there anywhere good online that I can get one from for a good price?
Or, just so I don't rule out the possibility, how much is an Acura CD changer?
Thanks! I know jack-**** about car audio (factory stereos work for me!), so...
Thanks again.

Oh, yeah, BTW...
One of my main concerns is being able to achieve the same ease of use that I get on my current CD changer: I just punch one of the six buttons and it switches to that disc. Very easy, very quick, very cool. I love it.
Some of the ones I saw on the Internet had remote controls and **** like that... that's not what I want at all. I'm a factory-style guy: I want stuff to look/act like it belongs there. I dunno--maybe it's not possible...
Thanks.

Your vehicle takes an Alpine CD changer (CHMS620 I know will work, last years model however). You will also need the addition of an aftermarket interface. Acura uses Alpine changer from the factory, but if you try to just buy the Alpine and plug it in, it won't work. The plugs are changed by Acura to discourage this. Aftermarket companies such as P.I.E. (Precision Interface Electronics) address this problem and these interface plugs are what they specialize in.
We sell the interfaces and the changers. Although you won't see that changers listed on our site we regularly order them.
Once interface and changer are hooked up you have complete factory control of the Alpine changer through the OEM head unit.
Let me know if you have any quesitons.

if you want factory functionality, then you have to get the factory changer. the reason why aftermarket changers come with remotes and stuff is because they're intended to be installed in a wide array of vehicles. just make sure you get your 98 gsr with the factory cd player and factory cd changer already installed.
like ck279 said.. you can get an Alpine changer (CHMS620 M bus..the non AI-net one..) and get an adaptor for it to work w. your factory head unit.. it will function but not look like the factory change as it will say Alpine instead of Acura (which isn't bad).. but you won't be paying the mark up of the "genuine" Acura changer.. and it can still be controlled by your factory head unit..
I think the changers your lookin at w/ the remote controls are the FM modulator or whatever kind.. where you have to tune your radio to a certain (not used) frequency.. because I have an Alpine CHA-1214 and its all controlled by my Alpine head unit..
