Adding a 6x9 in a 95 prelude
Hey everyone,
I have basic stereo setup in my prelude and i was going to add the 6x9 in between the rear seats that came on some madel ludes. My question is how should i power it?
Right now im running a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP kenwood components up front (5 1/4'') , pioneer coaxials in the rear (5 1/4''), and a JL 12w3v3 dual 4 ohm. Pushing the door speakers and rears is a JL 300/4 , and pushing the sub is a Xtant 121m.
I'm stumped on how to wire the 6x9, should i wire both rear channels from the 300/4 together and use that to run the 6x9 and use the head unit to run the rears?
Any other ideas ?? Thanks Joe

Total waste of time.
You won't even remotely hear it over the sub.
Adding another speaker in the rear will also destroy your soundstage, and honestly, defeat the purpose of the components up front.
It sounds like you've got a relatively-good sounding system right now. Adding a 6x9 will definitely not make it better. In fact, it will probably make it worse.

dont bother it would be a bad Idea on so many levels. If you want to improve your sound, go buy better front components. It is very possible to fit a 3-way component setup in the front such as a set of focals or mb quart. You could use your 300/4 to biamp the set of 3 ways then run your rear spkrs off the radio (or preferably delete them)
My coworker had quart qsd 3 ways in his 95 lude with the 4 and 1" mounted in the stock dash location, the imaging was amazing. It actually made me want to go from a bb6 to a bb1.
