Hi everyone... I just got my 95 LS last week. I love the car but the stereo in it is trash. It has a super cheap sony deck that skips a lot and is missing the front component speakers altogether. Im wanting to replace the head unit and both the front components and rear speakers... not wanting to put in any amps or subs at this time. My question is if there are any relatively cheap aftermarket component speakers that would fit the front door locations without any modifications. I hear that the stock locations for the woofer are pretty shallow. Also, how do i go about accessing the rear speakers?... do the grills just pop off or do i have to remove some body panels? any help is appreciated.... thanks in advance!

 

i put polk 6.5 up front, and alpine type R's in back (6x9), but i do have a sedan ...

 

wow, 6x9's in the back? ... are the sedans different from the 2 doors? im guessing they probably are. i would love to have some 6x9s though if they fit seeing as how im not going to be running subs

They drop right in with a lil cutting of the factory basket. and you will have great sound. the headunit has a built in amp that if connected right to the battery and the amp turned un it will put out 60 watts per channel. If not its 40 watts. I have two brand new ones, lmk I send you one cheap.

 

Yeah thats an excellent HU... what im probably going to do for the HU though is swap in my kenwood from my old celica into the teg and put the sony into the celica. Where can i get those (or similar) speakers for cheap shipped? ebay?
