Default 6 x 9 install on 2000 si

I just got this car (2000 si) and I was wondering how I install my 6x9's? It looks as if I have to take out the back seat and then all the paneling on the upper deck. Am I correct? I dont want to break anything.
Thanks

You'll have to mess with the plastics on the sides of the back seat too because they clip on to the plastic piece on the rear deck.

Yea its a pain in the *** to install speakers back there. You basically have to remove most of the back interior just to get those in.

Thanks</TD></TR></TABLE>Both motion and EVIL Hx coupe are right, it's a pain, not hard, but a lot of stuff has to come apart, kind of like a jigsaw, you have to remove that to get at this so you can pop them just so you can remove it. I have seen guys take shortcuts, [you will hear from them] sometime it works, sometimes not, sometimes the damage is miner and repairable, sometimes not.

Try this, whatever you were going to spend on rear speakers, put it towards better front speakers or amp, run the stock rear speakers off HU power, [for rear fill] and save yourself a ton of work 94

Yeah it's a pain, they should have just made the speaker grills clip ons like the front ones so you could just pull them off and replace the speakers without going through all that trouble.

How's it sounding now with the new equipment??

Funny... I just finished this in my 97 coupe. For being 16 and this being my first time actually taking my car apart it was rather simple. If i'm not mistaken it should be the same with your 00 Si? All I did was:

1) Lowered back seats and removed 6 10mm bolts holding them in
2) Popped lower back seats up (one on left one on right... pop em out first) then unscrewed another bolt holding it in by a hook in the middleback of the seat. Then move seat foward a bit and it should come right out.
3)(x2) Unscrewed bolt holding in trim on lower middle of it. Unscrewed seat brackets. Popped trim out by door first (its easier)
4) Take out rear piece (its pretty simple) THen do everything in reverse...

It only took me 3 hours... and it was quite easy... i was loafing around a lot and i had some shitty wire cutters so I could of probably done it quicker.

knowing what I know now, I wouldnt have gotten the rear speakers I have now, I would have just gotten high powered 7" to fit infront... perhaps components, but eh, ... in either case, I dynamatted that rear but I was thinking since I have a sub maybe I should have just left the holes open lol,.. oh well, more diversity and clarity yay lol...
