2003 civic question
I have a 2003 civic lx coupe. Alright here is the problem. One day my front driver side speaker blew and not even 5 minutes later the rear speaker blew. I have an eclipse deck and everything else is stock. Well I checked the front speaker wires and they are black instead of the copper color.
Now what would cause this to happen and I am sure I have to re run the wires. Could my deck have been harmed as well. Thank you

If the speaker leads are burning, black instead of copper, it is because you are over-driving the Eclipse HU into constant clipping, also what took out the speakers I would be willing to bet.
If the HU is connected to the OEM radio harness, [black ground and yellow constant power] the HU will start clipping very easily as current to the HU is limited.
Yes blowing speakers and a constantly clipping HU can damage the HUs outputs.
Start by eliminating that problem, If a kit was used to install the HU, run a ground strap from the back of the HU to chassis ground, back-strapping works very well, If the HU is ISO mounted the HU is already chassis grounded.
Also run a 12ga-10ga fuse lead from the batt. to the back of the HU and connect the HUs yellow constant power to it, don't forget to cap off the now unused OEM radio harness constant power.
The above will take care of any current problem the HU had.
As for the speaker leads, if you can scrape off the black from the strands of wire, and the wire or insulation is not brittle, or the insulation has not melted, [got very hot] you can continue to use the wire.
I will pull the wire strands between my thumb and a knife blade until the copper shine is back, it may take several scrapes, this will also tell you if the wire has gotten burnt too badly, it will be brittle and fall apart.
If it does fall apart, you will need to run new speaker wiring from the HU to the speakers, the rear speakers are not a problem, however the doors can be a pain.
BTW, you will have to replace the speakers.
