Default 1Ohm, 4Ohms Load??

I have two Pioneer TS-W2541C 10" Dual Voice subwoofer. They're rated 2Ohms or 8Ohms and I'm wondering how to connect them..

On the Infinity Website I found this: http://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/2-4-4.asp for 4Ohms load http://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/2-4-1.asp for 1Ohm Load

What is the difference between both and what is the best???

Thanks!!

The resistance (ohms) will dictate how much power the speakers recieve. The main thing to consider is if you amp can handle a 1 ohm load (most can't). The lower resistance will get you more power from your amp, and more power is louder. Check the specs on your amp and see if you can handle a 1 ohm load, if not then stick to the 4 ohm.
Hope that helped.

The subwoofer are 2 Ohms or 8 Ohms and I'm thinking about the MTX Thunder 405. This one is rated for 2 Ohms.. I never seen an amps having 1 Ohm.. so how I connect 2 Ohms sub w/ 2 Ohms amp?

If I put two 2 Ohms Dual Voice Coil subwoofer in parrallel.. I will be getting 1 Ohm load.. right?

So if I'm right and my amps handle 1 Ohm how I connect all the thing together?

I think you have the ts-w2541 dvc unit.

Be very careful when you drop impedances. You could possibly kill a cheap amp or cause a decent amp to go into protection mode. And if you do indeed have a quality amp, you'll probably blow a fuse somewhere. Getting loud (safely) can be hard sometimes.

There are very few amps that can run a 1 ohm load and last a long time.
I've heard that most GOOD amps are engineered from a 2 ohm platform. The 1 ohm rating is incidental and exists, but its more marketing then reality.

[The exception are those high current competition amps (aka "cheater amps")].

You wouldn't drive your integra all the time at 8000 rpm? So be nice to your amp and it'll last for years

Questions:

What kind of amp do you have? Is it capable of running 2 ohms mono or 2 ohms stereo? Are you going to set it up for 2 ohms mono or 2 ohms stereo?

.5 + .5 = 1
Yes, you're right.

So just to explain my situation: I don't have nothing yet.. just trying to figure out what I'll be getting how much it will cost and how to hook up everything fine!

Thanks everyone for the help and thanks Slick for the URL... very, very usefull website

So I'm going to go to Stéréo Plus (hehe I'm french.. I live in Québec) and see if I REALLY need two subwoofer (they have car with some sound system where we can try it and figure out what we need ).. two 10" would be really nice but if one 10" or 12" is enought I'll save some money there
