It's magic! Haha, if only it was that simple. It took awhile to get the wiring installed in an OEM-ish manner. Plus, now I'm trying to hunt down an engine noise/knock/rattle that follows the engine's RPM and is most apparent at idle. I don't know what it is, but it's more apparent within the cabin compared to the engine bay. I've ruled out all of the accessory belts, harmonic balancer, and there are no apparent exhaust leaks. I've replaced the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, and did a valve adjustment. Whatever it is, I can hear it most prominently on the firewall when listening with my stethoscope. From the interior, I can hear it on the dash and on the throttle with the stethoscope. I'm thinking maybe a worn out rear motor mount is transferring engine noise to the firewall? I don't know...

Looks like a super clean swap man, good job.
Thank you! It truly seems like a great motor so far!

Under 5000 or so RPM, it feels very similar to the d16z6. Over 4500, the b16 power really takes off.

Thank you. I'm happy too. My family is also happy because now I can spend more time with them. For the past couple weeks on my day's off, most of my time was spent out in the garage!

A little update. Just me and the kiddo trying to pinpoint where this engine noise is coming from. So far, no cigar. I'm contemplating paying somebody to figure it out. Other than that, I finally got the eg6 optional snowflake wheels installed. They actually look far worse in person than in pictures; no curb rash or anything, just some corrosion starting to bubble the paint in areas. I might refinish them someday if I can find a quality place at a decent price (rare and almost impossible to find these days). If not, I might try to do it myself.

Wow! Great colour, optioned out, sweet interior. Welcome to the RHD club! Where you will find that it quickly loses its novelty.

Thank you. I appreciate the kind words.

Thank you! I've always loved the CBP hatchbacks, and when this came up, it was a no brainer. It's not about the RHD that gets me; it's about sourcing and building a unique car that not many others have. I just need to make more room in the garage now. :/

Can you get a complete replacement roof skin? That is probably your best bet. It will take some work but will provide you with the best results in the future.

I second this, it looks like it will solve all your problems in one shot without having to cut and "splice."
