STRYKR's | '95 EJ2 DD Build
So I have finally decided to make a build thread since it's starting to get warmer out and I will be able to work on the car without freezing. I purchased this stock '95 EJ2 back in Nov for only $500, it has a few issues that need to be addressed and a bit of rust in the rear quarters. My current plan is to restore it, along with a MiniMe swap and a few other performance parts. This car is going to be used as a Daily Driver.
So as of right now my list of things to do are:
- Perform tuneup maintence (hasnt been done in a long time)
- Fix smoking issue
- Replace front & rear bumpers (previous owner hit something)
- Swap to EX/Si gauge cluster
- Antenna Delete Plate
- Replace headlights
- Rear disk conversion
- Repaint interior pieces
- Install Momo steering wheel
- Window tints
- Install Z6 head for MiniMe swap
- Install Moates Demon on P06 ECU
- Install AEM Wideband
- Install headunit
- Replace broken interior parts
- Replace full exhaust

Well its been a while since I posted last due to the military consisently sending me away from home (which I am currently again till the end of this coming week).
I recently picked up everything I need to do a z6 swap along with all maintence parts and a black face manual cluster. Got some time to paint the center console black, install an antenna delete plate and started to remove the A/C and P/S systems, the only reason that I'm deleting the powersteering is because it was leaking at a few places and instead of fixing it I decided to just make it manual.
Next weekend I should have the z6 swap completed and then get a chance to run to the pick n pull to get a new front bumper and driver seat.

Forgot to update this thread.. lol
Recently installed the Z6 head then got her up and running. I picked up a new MLS headgasket, spark plugs, waterpump, z6 timing belt, oil & filter and fuel filter (which I cant replace since the old one is stuck very badly.. possibly original, so ill get a shop to do it) Now I'm having a smoking issue which is pissing me off since it seems as though I may have a hidden hairline crack and burning coolant or oil. But since the original rotten exhaust is still on, there's a chance of the smoke coming from in there due to the cat being clogged from when the car used to bellow smoke before I did the swap. Another thing it could be is the Seafoam I put in there a couple days ago and still hasnt cleared out of the system.
On a side note I'm having issue's with my rad fan not turning on, and my bottom coolant to thermo hose not getting warm. I'm still looking into this, but Im sure its electrical related and I removed the thermostat right now as a safety since its summer and the car doesnt go farther then 10km a trip.
Also getting code 14 that is IACV, which I find odd because I just cleaned the IACV so now I'm going to check for other vac related issues.

Well there's a pretty good chance that my smoking issue is being caused by my head bolts being stretched beyond their limits. So looks like I'll be getting new ones and hopefully that fixes the issue! But there's other things that it could be too so I'll check all those things out while I'm waiting on new head bolts.
Picked up a knockoff Sparco bucket seat from a friend for free, which I will be installing after I get the car running. The seat needs a bit a TLC to look nice again, but thats going to be easy. I will be installing my momo wheel and NRG combo tomorrow along with taking some updated pictures lol

Its the wire to have the fan turn on, the fan wasnt working when I bought it. So the guy gave me wire and I rigged it up to get it home.. Its not like that anymore though.
So its been a while since I posted last, I found out the issue with why my car smokes and its the headbolts (I reused them and theyre stretched) so now I need to replace those but around here its the same price for ARP head studs. I need to place an order for those and then I should hopefully have my car up and running, but money has been tight the past few months so its been hard to justify spending on a project car.. quitting smoking would clearly make up for that.
Over the next week I will be doing a bit more work on the car such as finish installing the amp and sub, install my bucket seat to replace the ripped driver seat, and install my MOMO wheel & quick release.

AND... A year later I finally actually get the car running LOL I had it running last year for about three days then as I went to get it registered the head cracked and I let the car rest while I built up my GenCoupe more and used it throughout the winter.
Now I finally have it running again with nearly a new motor, also decided to build my LSV to drop in next spring. But now that I have this thing back up and running I will get around to doing everything I wanted to do that I never got around to doing:/
I picked up a few things this last weekend at Pick n Pull during their 50% off sale.
I got a EK Cluster, 2 Recaro knock off bucket seats, a new wiper switch and a EK center console for $50 which is a pretty good deal I think.
Dumb me though, I forgot to take the connectors for the back of the EK cluster. Im still trying to figure out a way to install the EK cluster without having to drill a hole into the eg cluster or make a arm for the trip reset as I think it looks horrible from most of the HowTo's I've found.
I still need to repaint the seats as they were very badly sun faded and than weld them to the sliders.
Also got the wiper switch replaced thankfully as any bump would cause the wipers to go off, so I just broke the arm to stop it from having weight to be able to do that till I got a new switch.
I still need to replace the front bumper which is cracked, flush & bleed the clutch line and also replace the hood that is rusting badly due to the bra that was on there for who knows how many years lol
Other then these issues the car is coming along very nicely which I'm happy about as Ive missed this car!

I have recently found out that my clutch hydraulics have been leaking, I replaced the CMC just to find out two weeks later my CSC wanted to die. I picked up a new CSC and will be installing it tonight. I'll hopefully be getting my window back on track tonight also as the regulator bent.
I have also installed a ES shifter bushing set, Hedman 4-2-1 header and 2" catless pipes to a Thrust muffler. I will also be trying to get my EK center console installed in the next couple of days.

Got my new slave installed and finally have pressure again, but still need to fix the window regulator and replace a tie-rod though.
Hopefully Ill get a chance to install my bucket seats and EK center console in the next couple days.
