Starting my build
Got my car a few months ago its a 99 hx 5spd
Already has some visual mods; Carbon fiber hood, front lip, lowered on kyb struts w/ blox springs, 15in Rota subzeros, teg front seats, si rear, short throw shifter w/razo shift ****, black housed headlights w/hids. As for upgrades it has a h-brace, front strut bar, rear tie bar, and a aem short ram.
First things first im doing a rear disc conversion, new tires (rotas have some all season junkers atm looking for some summer performance ones suggestions are welcome) working on the suspension (koni w/ ground control or some koni coilovers), asr or function 7 rear subframe brace with asr 24mm rear sway bar possibly more, then a new engine (this damn d16y5 is slow as *****), thinking b16b ctr swap or a boosted something else, not sure entirely really want a ctr motor (i dont know why jus do)

Ive already purchased a si trailing arms and spindles, junked everything else, got 4 refurb calipers (painting them all red so figured id start new up front as well) 4 new calipers, front and rear pads, moog rear camber kits, function 7 rear lcas, new toe arms, new bushing (idk what its called the big round one that goes in the middle of the trailing arm), goodridge ss lines. Still need the ebrake cables and new hub assemblies, but im getting there.
Im having some trouble painting the calipers. I got the caliper paint (rattle can) from the local parts store, i sprayed the caliper down with brake clean to remove the oils, i tried to paint and it didnt stick on certain areas, any advice? I went and bought scotch brite pads to scuffem up, but i havent tried it yet. Figured the paint would stick fine to the already bare material.
Mostly looking for a swap, thinking a mostly stock ctr swap, possibly a boosted ls, not 100% sure atm, idk how hard it will be to pass nys inspection with a boosted 99 car, amd im looking for reliability, so a stock motor would definitely win over a boosted one lol. Dont want a lot of hp or anything just something fun to boot around in
CTR swaps are not worth the money, especially when an itr swap is pretty much the same price.
boosted motors are just every bit as reliable as a stock motor as long as it is tuned properly.

Well finally got everything ready and such, took the weekend off from work and decided to get the car done so...
Started friday night lifting her up takin the wheels off and draining the brake fluid, couldnt use any power tools due to the time so thats what got done. Got s good night sleep woke up early and got to work. Started by removing the entire drum system, had to cut out those pesky toe arms.

After that i removed the front braking system and the axles. Then layed all the parts out
Then started disassembling everything to move the tranny out of the way for the new clutch, after some pain in the *** work we got the clutch it (my buddy insisted on leaving the shift linkages in and just pushing the tranny to the side, giant pain).
Now that the clutch is done, reassembled everything and put the new brakes on.
After all that was completed went back to assembling the rears, the ebrake cables were a bit of a hassle to install, Jus wasnt very high off the ground so it made things difficult. After a bit of messing around with putting on removing, then putting back on the rears were all together and the brakes were ready to be bled
After pouring some fluid in i found out the right rear was leaking do to a messed up flare so were rushed to the local parts store (5 mins before close) got some new line and put it on, bred the brakes, bled the clutch (nasty looking fluid in there) and now shes all done. Till i can order more parts

Thanks! Next is to get the new front bumper painted and put on, along with new fog lights and lip. Then a ASR 24mm swaybar and either a ASR or Function 7 rear subframe brace.
Curious if anyone has tried any parts from;

My hoods looking a little beat and id like to add some more carbon fiber, they seem reasonably priced but i cant seem to find anything about them, id get vis stuff, but im not looking to drop 600$ on a trunk lid just saying lol

Well has been along time since I posted on here. I decided on a motor to throw in, picked up a little b16a2 for 350$ and tore it apart. I cleaned it up had it bored to 81.5mm dropped new wiseco 10.1cr pistons, skunk 2 rods, with oem main and rod bearings. New oem oil pump and oem gaskets throught the motor. Kept the stock cams for now, put supertech dual valve springs and titanium retainers in. Had a itr intake mani already on it so kept that. Threw a skunk 2 alpha v2 header (cheap but nice).
Went back to the kid I got the motor from and picked up the b16a2 tranny for 250$. Pulled it open and dropped a quaife lsd in there.
Painted everything semi gloss engine enamel black and dressed it all up with bolt boys stainless hardware.
Decided to keep the stock hx wiring harness which wasnt hard just converted and exteneded a few wires.
Running on a p2t-a11 ecu with a rywire obd2a to obd2b jumper harness.
Next year I plan on boosting it. Why I wasted so much on forged internals. Id boost now but cant afford it after this build.
Special thanks to The Shodan for all the assistance in part decisions and for future business.
