slowman's EM1 build
Just thought I'd make a thread for my EM1. I have definitely been through a lot of cars, but this is the one I want to achieve my goals with. It's a pretty solid canvas so now it's time to start the work.
Didn't want to make a full build thread, cause I'm not to that point, just a thread to post the small progressions for now.
Picked it up in April 2009 up in Michigan. This is my 11th car, and my 11th Honda. I just love Honda. Couldn't pass this EBP EM1 up being bone stock, save for some Eibach Springs. It's getting harder and harder to find a stock clean Si these days so I had to get it. Has ~147,000 miles on the clock. B16 still runs strong, but does burn oil. She will probably be getting replaced this winter with a new power plant.
When I got it:

At the Madcou Car Show:

Word!

Only things I've done so far is a short ram intake and DC 4-1 header, thanks to Scram... gave me a hell of a deal, thanks man! Also, jcvett56 gave me a PW:JDM magnetic oil drain plug for free, thanks man!
Then I purchased a Spoon Duracon Shiftknob and some Spoon reservoir covers. Nothing spectacular, I know, but some stuff I wanted haha.

That valvecover is haggard, so luckily I had an extra valvecover in the garage. It's currently at Matt's shop, getting fully shaved and color matched EBP. Also, I have a JDM CTR faux-CF gauge bezel on the way.
So for now, just doing subtle changes and small things to get those out of the way, and TallKid kinda got me on the whole "baller parts" thing. haha!
Before IA2009 I'd like to have the following done, besides what is currently in the works:
-Function/Form Coilovers
-Invidia N1 catback DONE
-Invidia Test Pipe DONE
-Omni-Power Ti CELfix DONE
-Yellow Fogs
-NGK Wires
As you can tell, nothing crazy. Kind of going hardpark with it for now with a little something to back it up for next season.
Not out to break any 1320 records or anything, just a tastefully modded EM1! Will post all updates here as they happen!!!
Update: June 8, 2009
Got this JDM CTR shift boot in today and installed. Matches the JDM ITR armrest I have nicely, and flows perfectly with the Spoon ****.

Valvecover is about done. Decided to go with a little bit different color than EBP. Went with this "Calypso Green." I like it a lot. It's rad IMO! Thanks to Dave's Auto Body!!!! Finishing touches come tomorrow! Probably won't install until a few days before IA and also gotta get all fresh hardware from Honda!

CTR faux-CF bezel finally came. Was out of stock where I ordered from so after 3 weeks of waiting, it was worth it. Got her installed in about 5 minutes. Just little stuff I've wanted. Here are the pics:

Have to remove the "Maintenance Required" reset push button, they don't have that worthless thing in Japan.

Done

Update: July 7, 2009
Got the car lowered today. No name suspension but thanks to Scram for the swap out of my Eibachs so i'm not high tower for IA. Function/Form suspension coming after IA, but couldn't get the funds prior to. Enjoy!

Update: July 12, 2009
Got the Beaks Tie Bar on! I've always loved the look of them so I figured why not. Easy install with the Acetylene torch! First part of my suspension bridge is complete. Can't wait til after IA so I can begin buying more parts, right now it's really just save time!

Update: July 19, 2009
Figured I'd take a couple minutes today at the shop and clean up the injector wire harness. Looks much better IMO! Also, you see a little preview of the valvecover!

Been pretty busy the last couple days! Got the exhaust on a day or so ago and it sounds amazing! Def a good system and decent power increase as well. Very pleased with it.
Got my car detailed thanks to Dave's Auto Body. And also Matt wetsanded the headlights and they look like brand new. Couldn't be happier. Here's some pics of the progress.....

All waxed!

And he also said that I could use his JDM nonSRS wheel for IA! I was like really, yeah really he said. Sweet. Get home, get all the bullshit SRS stuff of my wheel (big pain IMO) and go to fit his wheel up, guess what, SPLINES ARE DIFF. I was like **** you gotta be kidding, but oh well. This tempted me to do something that I've always wanted to do since it was ALL torn apart, custom mount the cruise control controls. So I made a harness extension and mounted it in the center console. So all in all, it was okay because now when I get a wheel and quick release and all that, the SRS is outta the way and I still retain cruise! Always wanted to do it, finally did due to unfortunate circumstances.
Stock cruise harness:

Solder your wires kids.

Harness done:

Control unit mounted, works perfect!

EXTRAS::::SEE YOU AT IA!

Big thanks goes out to Matt (MrM3), Jordan (TallKid), Seth (s14), and Justin (jcvett56) for all the help and Aaron (aaronsbig16g) for them stickers!. Big thanks for today and always! Car all fresh for IA now.

Little update....
Most of you will know, but I hit 14.8 @ 93.77 at the track! Not too bad!
And I got this on Monday.. nothing crazy, but I can feel a difference.

nice work i have a black em1 that im currently building too if you would be kind and if you could explain the whole cruise harness thing becuase i want to retain my cruise control too
It's fairly easy to do. There are just three wires that go to the cruise control controls, and you basically just lengthen them to place the controls where ever you'd like. The biggest bitch (for me) was just removing the steering wheel and stuff.
Also, some updates, sold some of the stuff off my car (Spoon ****, CTR boot, CTR bezel, Beaks, Spoon Reservoir covers,....) Focusing on performance and stuff now. Ran her at the track last night, forgot how much fun it was. Probably swapping B18C in it over the winter..
Anyways here's just I/H/E and 153,xxx B16A2:
