First off wanna say thanks .. it's kinda amazing what I learned here ( knew nothing about these little motors before )
I was given a 91 hatchback been threw a few hands after it got a rod knock 😚

Vtec hard wired to button on shifter
Apparently he hadn't got around to swapping out ob o?
Went to a pull it yard found 1- 1.6 2 -1.8 engines and a b20b and b 20 z motor all under $200 ( was just looking )
Decided to pull mine down first to see what was in it before I I did anything
So set it to top dead center. Was about to pull head when something made me think check valve lash lmao didn't need a feeler gauge the first intake I touched. Had an easy 1/4 inch play this thing might just run
So if it was all valve noise and bottom end is good .. I'm gonna be😉
I had an idea ( if it runs )
Instead of hard wiring the v tec I would install a little tach with adjustable shift light and wire the light to the v tec so I could set it to come on at whatever rpm I choose ..
Any opinions???
Anyone ever spend any Dyno time exploring that ??

I don't even know what kinda cam is there theiy look brand new
