So, I bought a 2009 honda fit almost 2 years ago now.
I've done some things to it over that time, and it's currently in paint.
I had it up on JDMR, but thought maybe some here too would appreciate it.
It's a 2009 Honda Fit LX.
Bought authentic mugen fit parts (as there was no mugen fit offered in canada).

Si loaded up with Mugen parts! (and Sport model fender liners, needed for conversion)

1 of 2 oem fogs needed for the sport bumper (also got the harnesses, dash button, etc)

Sport model headlights (chrome instead of the black plastic, looks better on white fits)

lol@replica parts......
the grill:

the grill looks way bigger and nicer than this pic shows:

legit mugen shift ****:

rear lip:

shitty pic of the front lip:

OEM sport front bumper

grill:

parts/oem finder liners

rear lip

front lip (the sides are in the wrapping)

OEM honda fog lights:

in the booth:

rear:

front:

tein stech (got em from teknotik today)

about to go in for the clean up, buff, polish:

my si and one of the shop employees cars.

the lip on the bumper. not bolted up or 3m'd on yet - and the fitment is still amazing. (was bolted up right after this pic)

test fitting the rear bumper and skirt

side skirts on (back bumper not fully bolted on at the sides yet)

foglights in, front grill test fitted (im so happy with the paint match):

front lip on :

grill on, 3m not adhered yet...fitment is awesome.

after wheels and tint were done:

stopped at a buddys place, snapped a quick **** iphone shot.

And that takes us to my current tear down.
The cars clear coat COMPLETELY failed...... COMPLETELY. it was matte white down to basecoat, and that was failing.
one stage cheap honda paint FTL. friggin honda.

took 3M off the fenders.

cleaned and degreased side skirts.

degreased fenders...

took off the spoiler, cleaned and degreased the top and underside.

then
they sent me this..... i'll take better pics.

you can really see the pearl in the hood.... can't wait to see it when it's not in the bay...doesn't do it justice.

you can really see all the shades/colours in this pic...... cant wait to see it in the sun!

got these for a KILLER price, brand new.

while i'm at it, i'll throw in some sneak peek pics at my full winter project.
64 impala.
frame is off, getting fully wrapped/reenforced. some small interior touch ups, full repaint.
the car is %100 original interior. %100 original metal (body and floor). numbers matching.
this summer:

then go inside to see:

this is the floor of my 50 year old car.......

as i was there, the frame came back from being sandblasted. Due to the ENDLESS amounts of rust proofing, it had to be done to clean the frame enuff to be able to weld to it. lol.
50 year old frame cleaned up. NO painting done or any work. just a clean up to get ready to be enforced.

center of the X frame where the drive shaft goes thru:

these welds are just to get pieces in place, then one big weld is done and finished.

lots going on with both cars atm :D

wet sanding/buff/polish in progress.... he polished a small area when i was there just to snag shots.... it's so hard to get pictures of a tiny area - the pictures don't do it justice.
check the hood in the pic (pre wetsand)

wet sanding:

looks so dull wet sanded...can't wait to see it buffed and polished.

not even buffed/polished, yet the blue pearl pops...

claymore, I thought some people would appreciate it. It seems if it was an EG it would get more attention tho. lol.
firsts of 3 buffing stages is done....if it looks this good, the next 2 stages plus wax is going to be insane......

My TW 09 Base has the same **** white paint.....lol its oxidation city!
Pic bump......side note. Did you know the GD coilovers fit the GE8? Little shorter but you have alot more options. I picked up a no name EMUSA set to put on.
Car looks spectacular! If its a manual, get the shifter bushings. Noice.

the cars from the 90s had far better paint. honda is slippin.
good to know about the coils. shorter isnt a bad thing, as i wanna go a touch lower anyway.
todays update:
sun was already setting. the car is hard to get good photos of, esp when it's overcast...... i find it hard to get photos that show what my eyes see. such a tricky colour/paint job.

tomorrow the door handles go in, then we can finish off the sound deadning on the doors. it's only partially done, as we need to get in the door to put the handles in.
then the interior comes out, and we deaden that too.
if it was single stage paint it wouldn't have a clear coat (clear is the second stage) hell Milano red is a three stage. looks really good thought
Sadly you make a good point about getting more love if this wa an EG :/ Probably be at over 5 pages now lol. But I am loving this build so far! The new paint looks fantastic and that Moooogen is the bees knees bro. Can't wait to see her done and in the sun

thanks for the compliments.
I have owned 11 honda's... ef, eg, multiple ek's, del sol, ep3, 8th gen, GE8, etc etc...
The reliability of the fit has been great. other than paint, it's been solid...
I do love the older hondas...but to find one now - just so difficult to find one that's not rotten.... dumping 10k+ into restoring an EG is just a bad idea, no matter how much i'd love one again.
I am however cleaning/building up my 1964 impala. full frame off.... the condition of it was already fantastic.
FULL frame wrap/boxing/reenforcement, powdercoat the frame, up the pressure in the suspension a bit, some minor fixes to the interior, full strip down and repaint.
have bought 3g in small restoration items (hood/trunk wind splitter, emblems, trim, light gaskets, etc) very recently, with much more to come....
so the fit is my reliable low key daily driver/winter beater. my 1964 is my money pit. :D
today we took out all the interior (rear hatch pieces, back seats, front seat, all side panels, center console, pulled the carpet forward). we were able to get under there and get the sound proofing pretty high up the firewall. not bad!
very little sun out today. rained a few times. still got these so so shots.

interior out, carpet pulled partially forward (we got right under there, pulled to the side well enuff to get under it)

more to do tomorrow. fill in a few spots, finish the doors, and put it allllllllllllllllllllll back together.

love it... my first car was an 86 CRX, that I inherited from my brother, he had painted it this exact color. White with blue pearl... Looks great!

Yes, comfort is Key. Interior mods are probably my favorite mods. I would love to sound deaden my wagon like you've done with your Fit.
*also I had those same HFP wheels on my old GD; I do have pix of that.

Doing the sound deadening wasn't hard work. Just time consuming. Not expensive either. Even just closing the door It feels and sounds much better. Less tin can death trap.

paint is done.
seems like I have a wiring gremlin. I suspect stuck relay tho. Will find it tomorrow.
the overcast day doesn't show off this colour at all. will take more tomorrow once the sun hits.
