My DA build thread.
A few months back I got my 92 GSR back on the road after it sat for almost 2 years while I built the motor for it. After a month and 1100 miles of driving it I got t-boned by an old couple in an intersection, my car was totaled. I had to fight with there insurance to get money to replace my car and still got a horrible settlement considering the money time and labor I had into the car, I had almost $5k in recepts from just my engine build and I didn't even get close to that much back. But I didn't let that deter me, a few weeks ago I picked up a 93 RS in kinda rough shape but rust free and a pretty clean body. Now I'm in the process of stripping the RS and preping it for paint, the car was originally an auto and the previous owner did kind of a hack job turning it to 5-speed. After it comes back from paint all the parts out of my old GSR are going into this car. Now on with the pics:
DA before the accident:

The motor build for it:
GSR block
CTR .25 pistons
ITR crank and rods
Brand new ITR head and cams
ITR intake manifold + TB
ALL factory OEM Honda seals, bearings, gaskets, everything, no junk.
Thermal 2.5 catback
test pipe
AEM SRI
340 Prelude injectors
STOCK exhaust manifold (didnt have a header before it was wrecked)
Made 181whp on CROME (turbogixxer tuned
)

FINALLY in for the 2nd time after waiting 2 years (Rod knock first time it went in, 2 years of BS from the machine shop, don't mind the ugly *** valve cover):

1 month later
:

And my new DA the way it sat when I picked it up:

Stripped:

Enough parts to build 2 cars, can't wait to get it in and get my garage back:

My 5 speed conversion, I had before pics but the tunnel was hacked to **** I did my best to get the metal back where it is supposed to be and I cut another tunnel out of a junkyard car to make a plug for the oval hole and the peice the shifter comes thru and the boot goes on:

UPDATE 5/8/07
Just more eye candy mostly...
The car all stripped and pressure cleaned:

Just an idea of how nice and rust free it is (I used to live in the rustbelt this means alot to me
)

All loaded up and off to paint:

One of the many picutures I took to make sure the right bolts fo back in the right places, boarderline obsesive compulsive probably
