i have 12k hid's with stock brights and amber city lights. plus tearing them apart will allow me to clean them off since they are all fogged over from the prev. owner installing the city lights.

got some more of my interior installed tonight. car's comming back together nicely.

the projectors i have are from a subaru legacy i believe.

so i've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and was thinking about my motor build up that i'm working on, and thought i would post up what it'll look like

d16a6 block, from what i know no machine work
stock crank
arp rod bolts
stock rods
pm7 pistons
z6 head gasket
z6 head
stock valve train
maybe a skunk2 stage 1 cam
arp head studs
port matched header and intake manifold.
oem rings and bearings
oem oil pump

i know it's a mild build, but should yield some decent horse power for a d series, and according to zeal auto works i should be just under 12:1 compression (like 11.95:1 effective compression.)

question though, for rings, do i just order rings for the a6?

some stuff i'll be doing tomorrow

rear disc swap, 40/40 prop valve, and i'll be installing my blox lca's. going to be messing with my system, to see if i can't find something that i like better than what i have now (without using subs). oh and new front brake pads. and maybe rotors. dunno yet.

well didn't get the rear disc swap done, i was feelin like ish all day today. but i did get my head lights pulled off and apart and cleaned up a bit, still gotta get all the silicone off and then will finish the projector retrofit tomorrow. i did however buy new brake pads for my disc swap, so i'll be able to reliably stop untill i can afford brembo blanks and hawk blue pads

got the disc swap done last night. all hooked up and blead, i still need to adjust the rear brakes some. also installed rear mudflaps that properly fit the 88-89 style rear bumper, and blox rear LCA's. gotta redo some interior stuff. comming soon: going to be pulling the dash board out and re doing the wiring for my alarm, my speakers my power mirrors and some other things so it looks OEM, IF theives were to brake into my car they wouldn't find stuff, and so wires aren't in the way

also going to replace my climate center and ac thingy with a different one. the ac core has paint all up in it, and the climate center doesn't work correctly. also going to be replacing the heater core diverter thingy cuz it jams up.

man this car seems to be spending more time apart than together. lol. it's ok though, i'm getting lots of work done.

pulled the head off to replace the head gasket that was bad, then decided to continue replacing and fixing bad things and before i knew it i had the whole dash pulled out and i re did some of the wire tuck, and i hooked up the fan how it is supposed to be (through a relay and the fan switch). also got my custom vss setup tucked to where you can't see it. going to tuck my alarm some where hella hidden then put it all back together. while the dash was out i found an OEM radio plug and re soldered it onto the dash harness, and am currently converting my dimmer switch and what not to 90-91 spec. ****'s going to be CLEAN looking when i'm done.

well here's an update, i'm putting the motor in it back together today. i got the wiring almost all cleaned up, just have to re install my alarm then i can put the dash back in. also i decided to relocate my relays for my HID's under the dash instead of in the engine bay, so it looks cleaner. hopefully i'll have it running today

lack of motivation man. probly will be on today, depends on how long it takes me at my grandma's to get **** done.

update:

what started out as a simple head gasket replacement turned into a rewiring ordeal of mass proportions. lol i re did the mpfi conversion again because it was sloppy, replaced the coolant temp sensor and re wired up the fan relay since it was MIA so it will turn on when it's supposed to, not via a switch (h/g blew cuz i forgot to turn it on and went haulin *** up and down the street). i also didn't like where my alarm was mounted, so i did some mods here and there and now you can't even tell that i have an alarm... untill you come to **** w my ****. lol also i have keyless entry hooked up and will have power door locks which means i can rock my keyless door handles.

i aslo relocated my MAP sensor to some where lower on the fire wall, and using a CR-X fuel filter bracket i relocated my fuel filter down lower and behind the intake manifold. i hate how the engine bay is dirty sparkly gray, even when it's clean it looks dirty. going to attack my engine bay once i get my head on w some simple green and a scrub brush tho.

well yesterday i changed the oil hooked up the map, and it cranked over for a few seconds then started right up. not throwing a single code, idles between 700-800 rpms, and feels pretty nice. thought i had messed up the timing at first, but turns out the dizzy was loose and had advanced it's self all the way forward.

so of course i go to drive it around the neighbor hood, and the brake pedal sinks to the floor. i'm like wtf?? turns out something leaks on the prop. valve. so when it cools down i'm going to check out the brakes. also i need to tear apart my head lights again, the beam is way too low, even when the light's are adjusted backwards.

drove it a little bit up and down the street today, thing still CHUGS gas... but it's aite. i think i've got a bad motor mount or something, whole engine shifts back when i rev it... smokes a bit now, so i think it'll be time for some new rings soon on the b1... then i will mate it w my z6 head. got my rear tweeters installed today, and my alpine speaker amp. yay!! lol
