My 1st 91 DA..build thread!
First of all, if you don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself! I am trying the best I can w/what resources/parts I already have.
So a couple months ago I had a '98 lowered S10. A guy called me up and asked if I wanted to trade straight up for a '91 Integra.
I said "Bring it on down and I'll take a look at it."
I ended up trading for it that night.
I got it without a full interior and a really crappy paint job (they brushed the paint on in spots and even the primer they used had runs!) When they painted it with foo foo cans they didn't tape off the headlights or taillights. It was a disaster cleaning them up! The moonroof has a huge crack in it but does not leak. A few fixable dents (w/o bondo).
The hood was freaked up pretty good so I found one in Madison for $30. Has one dent but will be fixed eventually.
The car had a front bumper and side skirts from a body kit. I kinda like the way it looks but I want to do something different eventually. I am planning on either getting rid of the Z3 vents by fiberglassing
or replace the fenders altogether w/some stock ones.
What it looked like when I got it:
There's a dent on this quarter panel but you can't really see it in this pic.
Here are the basics of the car:
1991 Acura Integra
LS trim
B18A1
original paint - White
Stuff already done to it when I got it:
Lowered on some springs-brand unknown
Stainless header
Catback exhaust-brand unknown
Port&polished head
Angel eye headlights
REALLY crappy tint job!
New transmission
New clutch
New short shifter
Things I have done so far:
Pulled the headlights and taillights out and cleaned them up. Took the headlights completely apart and painted them chrome lime green and the fried halos (prev owner had em hooked up wrong) matte black.
Traded the stock tail lights to a friend for a set of halo tail lights.
Took the valve cover off and took it to school, bead blasted it then taped the indented squares off and painted it lime green.
I replaced the hood even though I wish mine was repairable seeing my stock hood is lighter than the other stock hood I installed.
I took the center console out and made a plate for the cd player and EQ to sit at an angle then fiberglassed and painted it white (will be wrapped in leather soon).
Machined and tig welded my own steering wheel hub(temporary) and installed a MOMO steering wheel.
Made my own cat-delete pipe so I wouldn't bottom out on it anymore.
Acquired a pair of Konig V-Racing seats from a frien (tks 2 gerbs94integra). Made my own sliding seat brackets and installed them.
Bought two sets of rims: a set of 14" OEM Honda rims for winter (tks 2 FreddysEF) and a set of 16" Mille Miglia rims (tks 2 Jesse95).
At the moment, I am working on sanding the whole car down.
Some future plans:
I want to get the interior all put back together, paint it and drop it on some coilovers.
I want to LS/VTEC turbo build the motor.
I also either want to put a JDM front end on it or CF the whole front end, doors and deck lid.
Right now, I will be fabricating a custom cold air intake from a top mount intercooler from my 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and also fabricating the hood for the CAI.
By the time I'm done I want it to be RHD, too.
I will have pictures of everything up very soon.
With where I live right now it's kind of hard because the internet is so freakin' slow.

Are you going to fiberglass the interior? I'd say wrap the center console you made with vinyl or something... black vinyl, lol. I like how you masked off the valve cover though, maybe not the bright green, but to each is own, lol. You plan to have some fun with the bay? Shave, tuck, w/e.

Re: My 1st 91 DA..build thread!
I guess they are off of a 98 civic.
The center console is the only thing I'm going to fiberglass, and I was thinking the same thing with wrapping it. I plan on wrapping the two panels beside it too so not just one thing would be wrapped. I don't really know why I went with the bright lime green but I wanted something to stick out, was going to paint the whole car lime green, but I don't want to stick out that much especially in my town. So I'm going with the matte black look. And as for the bay, hopefully I get to it this summer when I'm in college. Full wire tuck and RHD conversion and like I said, build my b series or just swap it.
I know, I want to either fiberglass over the fake vents on the fenders or get JDM fenders, I personally don't like the fenders or bodykit. But it all came on the car so Ill deal with it for now. The bodykit doesn't look too bad, I mean it can be WAY worse right, with the wing and neons and a really wide bodykit.

Re: My 1st 91 DA..build thread!
My other problem is having a **** ton of fines from my last ex sedan. Pushed a riced out eclipse like 40 feet, was sweet, but not worth the fines and no license. So my build is going to be a slow build. Don't worry not gonna rape a nice DA
BTW dents should be pulled out and fixed by next friday. will have pics up after that.

Re: My 1st 91 DA..build thread!
Thank you! It sucks trying to find the stock parts around here tho..but hopefully in 2 weeks I should have a stock 91 bumper, although I was trying to find a 92-93.
And as for not wanting the lowered S-10, I liked it. no1 ever talked crap about it, although the ride sucked *****

Hey man, I didn't mean to step on your toes with your tastes. I have different taste than you and I don't see a reason for me to not state my opinion. Sorry if it came off harsh.
You said something about fines and what not... honestly I went down that road too. Young and stupid thinking the law wouldn't even catch up to me. Well almost 6-7 years after my last incident it caught up to me, and I paid. So, do yourself the favor, dont spend money on the car right now. Focus on getting yourself legal so that when the car is done or at least drivable you can drive it without the worry of being busted... most importantly get yourself legal before fiberglassin' the Z3 fenders or going on the hunt for a stock bumper, etc etc.
Just some words from a guy who's been down the same road before.
As for finding parts w/o a license it's easy. Car-Part.com. Found a lot of **** I needed or wanted cheap on there.
