Default Mitch's 98 Sedan Build

Hey guys, this is my first build, I'll start from when I got it and where I am now.

It's an Inza Red 1998 Civic LX sedan from Colorado. I live in Canada so Inza Red wasn't available here. Bought it stock except for an ugly Mugen rep lip and terrible coil sleeves. Here we go.

When I first bought it after the lip ripped off.

Next I installed my clear headlights and tailights.

Then I installed my SIR lip, Type R grille and mudguards.

Got a Skunk 2 Type R style ****.

Touched up the clear coat that was peeling on my rear bumper.

Painted my wheels because they needed some love. Also bought some Yonaka coilovers and installed those aswell, much better then those disgusting sleeves.

Deleted collars and adjusted the preload on the front coilovers to get it the same height as the rear. Also painted the lip around the grille.

Got tires and wheels, got the tires mounted.

Installed my front/rear camber kits.

Got the wheels mounted after I maxed out my camber kits and rolled my fenders/quarters with my fender roller.

Got an NRG wheel, short hub, CRV seats and gutted my interior. Gutted it because it's getting painted over winter and the interior is getting redone, I also love driving gutted cars.

Painted my valve cover, deleted AC, deleted CC and everything related to windshield washing.

Plans for after winter will be paint, more suspension work, a beefier more funtional stance so it will be getting raised, new wheels with less of an offset, and a B swap of some kind, don't know if I'm gonna swap in an LS with minor bolt ons and track it, or find a GSR and build that, see what the funds call for at the time. Either way the car will be taken to the track after winter.

Anyways let me know what you think guys, might not be your cup of tea but I love it!

Stance and 'track it' don't belong in the same thread. Pick one.

if you read the rest of his comment it states he wants to switch wheels and tires and raise it up.

not my cup of tea at the moment, should be good when you make the proposed changes though.

You got it Scott! Yeah, personally I love being low, I love "flush" stance. But I want this car to be very functional, no it's not staying that low haha, it'll be all function. This is just the start! Nothing compared to most of the builds on here, but it's my build and I like it. Gotta start somewhere right?

Well for one I don't care for luxuries, never have. It also doesn't get really hot here so why keep AC? I never used cruise control, never use windshield washer fluid and I wanted an aftermarket steering wheel so I can't have an airbag.
The point in it all is that I like it.

I'll always love the look of it, always. But not going through tires and scraping away at my floor haha. And thanks man.

Forgot to mention this. Stance and track do belong in the same thread. Just because I say stance doesn't mean that I'm talking about being low and flush. Just talking about the overall stance of the car. Every car has a stance..

I think it looks awesome low. But I totally hear you on being functional. People just need to realize cars go through phases as the drivers perspective begins to change. It really doesn't matter if it's their cup of tea or not because at the end of the day you'll be the one drinking it a.k.a driving the car, not them. But then again, this is Honda tech and it's full of purists and dbags(not all of you) but that's the scene here for you. Good luck with the build and my brother has the same color and year ek as you haha

Motor gave up on me. 370k on it so I guess it's expected to happen at some point. Getting parked for winter then big changes come spring time.

ha, the D16Y7 is not exactly a performance engine, but they are dirt cheap to replace. Got one a couple months back with only 120km's for $200

Yeah, people sell them dirt cheap around here. But it's all good! Just an excuse to get a B in there.

Default Mitch's 98 Sedan Build

Well it's been a few years but the car is much better then it was before. I ended up pulling the D16 out and getting rid of it. Then the car sat for awhile, sent it to a local Honda shop and had it k swapped.

The sedan now has a K20Z3 engine/trans making 221whp and 165trq.

It has a 3.5 intake with a velocity stack, ktuned swap header, full 3 inch header back exhaust with a 3 inch ktuned muffler, hasport ekk1 mounts, new base rsx axles, ktuned fuel rail, fpr, grams 255lph fuel pump, ktuned tuck harness, brake line tuck, fuel line tuck, power steering, ac, washer fluid hoses is all deleted, bay got repainted, all new brakes, new konig wheels and 205/50 dunlop tires, new windshield, OEM SIR bumpers, fresh paint on bumpers and brand new fenders.

Hope you guys like, here's some pics.

That is some nice progress!
You're using EK subframe, or you swaped EG?

Not much updates, been enjoying the car. Got a bucket seat and a new wheel, a front lip and swapping to a Domani/EL trunk with clear lenses.

Also picked up a rear disc swap for the car that I'll put on after winter. Plans after that is paint work, a different set of wheels/tires then some more power!
