Default Take a Shot in the Dark - CD7 + F20b (how to swap a motor in 50 days)

A lot of you may ask, "why not the H22a?" Well beyond the average answers you get, like "more torque" and "more displacement" I decided to go against the grain. My reasoning behind it all can be summed up in one word, "unique." For those of you who are not educated; the F20b is similar and not, to the h22a, in several ways.

F20B
Accord/Troneo Sir and Sir-T (CF4) (JDM)
197hp@7200/145tq@6600

85mm bore
88mm stroke
145.5mm rods (f20b rod length = 145.425)
1.65 r/s ratio
55mm mains
11.0:1 cmpr
23mm wrist pin
Iron Sleeves

You can do the comparison to an H22 on your own, i don't feel like searching.
I will have help from a good friend and wheel *****: Toyomatt84. He's actually part of my inspiration in this project as he stepped out of the realm of normalcy last year when he put a k24a2 into his EM2.

Pictures will be thrown up as often as possible. I will try to answer your questions when I can, pending the fact I actually have an answer. I am taking a shot in the dark, so please bare with me. I will need your help as well and in return you shall all be enlightened.

On with the pics.

should be good to go. Motor was pulled from a CF4 with 22k on the ODO. Compression tested excellent accross the board.

can't get too optimistic, and i always prepare for the worst

Thanks for the info Momstaxi!!!

unfortunately the harness that came with the motor was cut. So now im at a stand still till i can source a full (uncut) harness. Im thinking i might be able to run an h22 harness, however that may be too much wiring, and end up in disaster. We will see. Still under the crunch so any help with sourcing a full harness would do wonders. $25 finders fee for anyone that can come up with something before I do.

It's going to be tough, fun, back-busting, and exhilarating... all in the same swing.

It's all good though, I think we can source some info. about your wire harness, and get it sorted.

I think your right. Already it looks like the right h22 harness will be some form of usable......in fact we might even be able to modify it with specific connectors needed for the f20b harness.

Oh pics of the OBD2B to OBD2A conversion harness from Boomslang. Pricier than some of the other harnesses i saw but quality work for sure!!!
