Default durfeec's build thread

So all last winter i completly redid my 91 CRX. I did a 97% color change. The only thing i didnt paint was the floor on the inside. We fixed all of the rust and painted it silver.

I bought all new trim from Honda so nothing was sunfaded. Just in trim and clips i spent close to $300.

I bought it with a LS swap so i just rebuilt it. I used OEM rings and bearings and a FELPRO gasket kit. I also put a BLOX IM on it with a AEM CIA. It already had a no name header so i just used it. i ran a full 2 1/2 exhaust to a XCELARATOR muffler from Auto Value. It sounded pretty good.

I finally got it on the road in July and a week later it rusted in the quarter panel. We cut out the rust, sand-blasted, welded new metal in, fiberglass and then a very little bondo. Idk how or why it rusted but it made me

So i traded it for a 94 civic coupe and $300:

I have more pics of the body work and the engine bay. I did some work yesterday. Ill post them tonight.

tell me what you think.

Pics of the engine bay. Its just a d16z6. It leaked oil and anti-freeze. Got them both fixed.

I knew when i got the car that the door had some bondo cause it had cracked but i didnt know that the entire quarter panel had been smashed. There was like 1/8" bondo that wasnt needed. I grinded it all out and started to put my own bondo in.

Its all done now. The door had a lot of bondo in it also. I just grinded the crack out and filled it back in. Im gonna look for a new door eventually.

Someone had put a wing on the back and drilled holes in the trunk. They just filled them with bondo real quick and the bondo just cracked out. We filed out the bondo and welded the holes shut. It will need very little bondo to fill it in.

There was some rust in front of the drivers side rear tire.

We cut the rust out and welded new metal in.

Then we put fiberglass over the grinded welds for a better filler. All it needs now is a little bondo.

When i took the rear bumper off the was some more rust but nothing major cause you cant see it. We welded in new metal and fiberglassed over but im not gonna worry bout sanding cause you cant see it.
