Default Brice's 97 Coupe build

I picked up this 1999 Civic Ex sedan in March. The previous owner, Infamousavi was nice enough to daily this for a while and made some subtle additions.

He added 99 Civic si front grille, front lip, 15" wheels, EK9 sidemarkers and OEM fog lights. The mirrors I believe are Canadian EL mirrors or JDM EK4, I can't remember. The car was lowered on Blox Sport shocks and Blox springs. The ride height was nice, but the ride was too bouncy for my taste. He also added window visors, some nice Florida tint and OEM VI-RS decals. For a few extra bucks, I also purchased a Tanabe Hyper Medallion he had previously put on his EM1 that he no longer wanted since he had decided to K swap.

The car had previously been an automatic and he had issues with the automatic transmissions, so using a d16z6 swap and some 99 Civic si manual parts, he converted the car to manual.

After getting a bug to get a newer bigger car, he purchased a TSX and I bought this from him.

This was him on the way to my house:

Safely next to my S2000.

My plans are to swap in a B series motor and add some goodies to make the car mine. Tune in and Enjoy.

Brice

I had traded my old Bronze MF8s to Hish, user 99Slammedcivic after my last Integra was stolen. I really wanted them back so I hunted down a set.

I wasted no time putting them on.

Then it was off to Import Alliance in April.
Rolling Shot courtesty of Kegan aka AHVTEC

Kris H was nice enough to snap a pic at the event.

Heres a side by side of the 2 Mugen MF'ers.

I picked up some goodies from Matt at ICB:

and here's a random shot of the OG Benen strut bar I picked up from Carlos aka Formula

I also randomly had a Buddy Club radiator cap laying around from a previous car.

So my good friend Tony user Shitsweak! has been hooking me up with D2 and TruHart parts since he started working at D2 USA.

please contact him at D2

compared to the Blox

installed with the TruHart Lower control arms.

the TH LCAs use Hard Race bushings for all their suspension parts.

I recently purchased the rear camber kit as well. I will follow up with those pictures soon.

Pretty sedan. Pretty rims. Tints are a little dark for my taste, but looking good.

Yeah I wouldn't have them installed myself, but the previous owner lives in Death by Sun, Florida. So I didn't blame him.

Thanks.

My friend Tuan user 6Spd_ej6 had a B17 laying around with bad LMAs for $200.

I gladly picked up and he got to work tearing it down.

He promptly dropped the crank and all the pistons in preparation for all new parts.

I ordered all brand new OEM color matched bearings, ARP rod bolts, RS machines 81.5 PR3 pistons.
I also ordered ARP head studs, OEM oil pump, water pump, timing belt & tensioner.
I've always liked the AEBS intake manifold mated with a Hondata gasket which I had on my last build. I went with an Edelbrock 65mm throttle body as well.

Here's a mock up of the head on.

We're currently waiting for the valvetrain and cams to show up.

stock for stock yes. put oversized b16 pistons in a b17 and it wakens it up. stock compression for a b17 is 9.5:1 I think.

a jdm b16 is only 10.4 compression
my build will be about 10.8ish

Nice pick-up Brice. I'll actually enjoy looking through this thread as you continue the build. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I wonder though... how many "e-thugs" will come into this thread just to try and bash because you hurt their feelings on the interwebz at one point or another haha.
