*J&D AUTO* Build thread C.F.R. Represent! K20 inside
Been Building this car on and off for bout the last 3 months. Our main goal is to get it done by Honda Day @ Englishtown.
Car is owned by a buddy of mine who up until about 6 months ago, wouldnt of even looked twice at a honda. I Aquired this Green eg CX shell from a friend of mine in which it just sat in my driveway for a good 4 months. i was originally going to use it to make a fully gutted all motor car, but then decided to use it for this instead.
first thing he wanted to do was get the bodywork done, all the rust taken care of, and a fresh inside and out paintjob. He chose Alpine white and we stripped the car completely down and sent it on its way.
pics of it before body work

Took off the pass. side bracket.

Dropped it off at the body shop and they got to work.

after bout 2 weeks it was done and sexified.

The floor will have carpet

car sat for a few while we gathered up some more parts and found some time to actually work on it. Finally decided to get some time in today. tightened down all the brake bulkhead fittings. all the lines inside the dash are ran through and tight. Gotta mount the prop valve now and finish up the small stuff.
He had gotten Brand new Mirrors but they were a glossy ugly black. so i decided to paint them with some Trim paint. give it more of that oem look.

Threw the motor back in the car, Wired up everything with the Chase bays Harness and mounted the plate. all the other holes that were in the engine bay i filled in with Pieces of Carbon fiber from a duckbill we had layin around in pieces.

got alllllll Brand new Door moldings, window moldings, roof moldings, rubbers and JDM thing moldings for the doors. put the mirror on as well everything looks nice and oem.

got a lot more stuff to change out like the FPR, all fittings and all lines are going to be Black/Nickel fittings and black Braided Line.

I still have to shorten the top radiator hose and need to get 2 more -16 fittings and -16 black braided line for the lower hose as well along with all fuel lines and a black AEM fuel pressure regulator.
But this is what i have so far.. keep posted and this car should be a sexy *** beast.

YAY for more parts.

Got new door handles and painted them with trim paint. put the locks in them and they were good to go.

Time to start making fuel lines.

one line made.

while i was making fuel lines, shea got to work making the seat brackets and mocking up the seats.

caught him day dreaming lol.

cool pic of the white turd next to the gold turd.

forgot to show off the Brand new gastank and straps.

fuel feed line made. i love how the hybrid fuel rail has the bottom tucked center feed. you cant even see this line in the engine bay. big ups to hybrid.

fuel filter to the feed line.

were running the feed from the Bosch 044 to the filter to the fuel rail. were using an external bosch 044 feeding from a non sumped tank from the top. -8an from the tank to the pump then -6 to the rail.
the sunset.. no homo.

moved the map sensor to the TB. thanks to Brian @ karcepts for getting us some little plugs.

My homie Carlos "the window guy" putting in the quarter glass.

both sides

ONE thing i would like all your opinions on. what do u guys think is the easiest and cleanest way to run the brake booster hose frm the intake manifold to the booster. we had a little -6 line left and tried to use it. it wasnt long enough to have room to play with but what u guys think?

we got a lot more done today then whats pictured but i forget to take picsx when im working.
OH and 1 last thing.
cough cough Tim.... i thnk we need a new TPS sensor. hook it up! PM me :D

thanks for all the advice/compliments/nice words. keeps us in a good mindset to get the car done.!! more parts comming this week. should be hitting the car hard again to finish up the engine bay and suspension on thursday.
Again big ups and thanks to Brian @ karcepts and Tim @ hybrid racing for getting us the best parts the first time and always willing to give advice and help!!

thanks man!
got a few more parts in today. still waiting on a ton of stuff.
got the supplies to make the upper radiator hose. got about 3ft of -12 braided line and a -12an 45* and -12an 90*
i originally wanted to put the 45* on the radiator and the 90* on the water neck. but clearance was a big issue cuz of the intake. so i switched it the other way and it worked perfect!

upper hose made.

Like a glove

DALE chico.

thanks to Brian @ karcepts for the awesome sexy super clean mishimoto coolant overflow tank. i recommend this to anyone. there not expensive, and super nice. and the quality is awesome! comes with a nice bracket and all hardware with clear hose.

Shea Drilling the Holes for the fuel pump bracket.

fuel pump on, all the lines on. fuel system is 98% done.

back to mocking up and mounting the coolant tank.
i was originally going to do it on the drivers side frame, but 1. it looked really cluttered, and 2, couldnt find a good place to bolt it up. so i chose this spot.

we need to get a 90* nipple on the overflow hoseso this strait has got to go.

all mounted up.

so sexy

Also got the antennae block off plate, painted it black trim paint but forgot to take pics of it. lol
thats all we got done tonite. had to cut the night short. got a lot more parts rolling in, waiting on a bunch of stuff from Honda, and waiting on all the misc. stuff that nickle and dimes u to death.
