Default Prelude/K-Series/NXS LMA + .040" washer trick for B-series

Prelude/K-Series/NXS LMA + .040" washer trick for B-series has been discussed. I've read all the theory, etc.

Anyone DONE this with a hardened washer? I realize non-hardened washers will deform.

I'm not looking for theories, but first hand knowledge of how well this combo works.

I think I read somewhere that Omni was a proponent of this, but haven't seen him around, lately.

You are correct.

I am kidding you.

But really, people use non-hardened washers for this?

Read all the theory, and haven't seen any feedback from people that have done it as to whether or not it caused any problems. The trick's been around long enough for some people to know how well it works. I'm really surprised you're ******* me for asking this before doing it, myself. I'm not really crazy about having to go in and replace them for some odd reason after doing this.

Yeah...I'm aware they're all spring-type.

H22 LMA = $8 each
B-Series LMA = $22 each

Bastards at Honda changed to the much cheaper to manufacture part and continue to charge the price of the old hydraulic style.

Understand why I'm asking the question, now?

I'd consider saving $90-$100 a benefit in itself....as long as everything worked as it should.

FWIW, I've had plain stainless washers under my h22 lma's for over 40k miles now, no wear or deformation. I'm just using bc3+ cams though.

So I drill a hole in a dime and that will work?

does anyone have a part number for the dime I am supposed to use or common dimes in my piggy bank will work?
