Default K-Series Engine Camshaft Comparison Chart - Thanks to TheMidasTouch

Fortunately for us, cam selection sucks. The Honda K Series community suffers from the luxury of abundance.

This worksheet is an attempt to comprehensively collect all available options for the K Series and an approximately standard method of comparison.I was forced to take some liberties and make assumptions. Please feel free to share any suggestions, additions, or feedback as you find it.

I then went on to further extrapolations as a thought experiment. I decided that, given ideal build conditions for each cam pair, I could roughly extrapolate Peak Torque and approximate RPM. Coupled with some of the constants of the platform, I thought it would be fun to extrapolate Max/Target Wheel Horsepower. Feel free to take these for what they're worth.

Awesome, thanks guys!

I've been mulling some improvements to this. If anyone has suggestions or requests, just let me know.

There are a couple manufacturers I've missed (of course). I would also like to make it more broadly consumable for less advanced users. For now, the roadmap looks like this:
  1. Add BuddyClub Cams
  2. Add Blueprint Cams
  3. Fix Toda Durations
  4. Add "Cam Selection guide"
  5. "Cam Tags"
    1. OEM block compatible,
    2. OEM valve spring/retainer compatible
    3. Applicable fuel types
    4. Turbo Friendly
    5. Endurance/Circuit racing Friendly
    6. Etc..
Would that be helpful?
I would also love to make a B-Series equivalent as well.

b series would be cool too, id especially be interested in non-vtec profiles, but i understand im not in the majority with that one.

i think the list could benefit from a "this cam works best with a 86, 99, 102-106mm crank" or something similar

also, i think the wheel horsepower estimations are a bit high, maybe 5-7%, as the highest ive heard of anyone making with a 106mm engine on class spec fuel (M1 or M5) is around 465whp

thanks for taking the time to provide information like this to the community!
