does this work?
my friend is into like fox body mustangs with the big v8's and what not. and he said that they have a trick where the paint the inside of the intake manifold black and let it dry on then put it on. and some how it keeps it cooler. i was just wondering if this works on our hondas?
Let me ask you 2 things that can help answer your question.
1. Is it carb'ed?
2. If its fuel injected, and it actually did something, why WOULDNT it work on a HONDA? The laws of thermodynamics dont change just because one engine says HONDA and says CHEVY/FORD/CHRYSLER/DODGE/BUM****EGYPT.
"The engine doesnt care who's name is on the valve cover" ---- ????
5 points to anyone who knows who said that without googling it.

I wish I could type in all caps. You still didnt answer my first question, or even think about the second.
1st question- was it carb'ed of fuel injected?
2nd- if its fuel injected like a HONDA, what would change it to make it not work? Use your brain, help me, help you.

Well I was hoping it wasnt both.
Im "guessing" it would be more beneficial in a carb'ed app, especially one without a cool can because not only is the temp of the fuel kept cool, but the incoming air as well. In an FI app, cool air is worth HP for sure. But alot of times, coatings/paint can trap heat IN instead of reflecting it.

i would try it, but im scared that it may mess something up. well that would be with my luck, just because everytime i try something new it always backfires on me.
cant really mess that up tho, I could see it possible helping... worth taking your manifold off, taking it apart and cleaning it like a ****... prob not.
yea not to long ago i cleaned the mess outta mine. and i felt the diff. so whats better a ported and polished IM or after market?
Whats better, chocolate or vanilla?
do you know what sterno flame is?
they are those little cans that you use to cook food when you go camping. its a paste.
smear that in your intake tube. not the manifold. itll make power. thats what the nascar guys get caught with during their qualifying runs.
**** paint.
or maybe sterno flame doesnt owrk on hondas? lol/
