Default De-Buring a block...

Has any one here deburred their blocks? If so does anyone have any tips? Im just gonna practice on an old block. I want to chamfer all corners I can reach in the oil passages. Pictures would be nice, and tool choice also would be nice. I was thinkin dremel, rat tailed file, and a drill. I want to focus on the crank journals. any help or pictures would be awesome.

That was on a dart block, where the casting and machine finish was not up to honda-spec standards...

Yeah read that whole write up, however the crank bearing oiling holes still need work, and if you have ever looked down the oil passages in a honda block you will see some flaws. Im talking about chamfering the leading edges on he oil passages I can reach and cleaning the intersections of oil ports i can access. No block is perfect not even honda blocks.

If your going to drill out the oiling hole its best to use a uni-bit. It will leave ne burr's on the bearing and will drill it clean. Just be very careful to make sure its perfectly centered with the hole.

+1 on th unibit. im not familiar with de-burring blocks, but unibits are really good at enlarging passages and rounding sharp edges in one step.

Deburring is not the same as enlarging oil passages. Deburring is just getting rid of casting flash, sharp edges, etc. ENDYN probably does'nt have time to answer any emails that dont regard him selling something, which he absolutely should'nt have to, I'm the same way.

I understand that and I explained that in the email I sent them. Notice I didnt fire out at Endyn I mearly said that they hadnt gotten back to me yet, nothing bad said. I also dont hold anything against them and still plan on buying parts from them becasue they have some of the best parts on the market. I appologize if theres abything I said that offended you.
I do understand the differance between deburring and porting oil passages. I had just stated that in the ports that flow oil from the head back to the oilpan there have been castingflash in three of the three honda engines I have torn down.

there is a few very knowledgable people on here if you are serious. i know donf is the one person i turn to when im looking for advice on engine building. some people just forget where they came from and that they started somewhere. also they forget that they where in your's and my shoes at one time, just wanting advice that doesnt have a price tag on the end of it.
good luck on you project. i wouldnt mess with the crank oiling holes. i would assume its very easy to do more damage than good

You are correct it is still in my microsoft outlook outbox. Well its sent now (I hate outlook). A local machine shop said they can help a little, however they specialize in circle track 350 and 5.0s. They said I have to be pretty specific on what I want them to do. They have a pretty impressive record, however i think they want me to just go away. Haha, they still cant see we are all in the same game no matter what badge is on the front of your car.
