How do you like the Bryan crower stage 2 cams? He’s working on my motor and highly suggest I swap out my skunk2 tuner2’s for them

they are good I would have liked to go with the stage 3 if I went with abit high compression I am only at 11:6:1 but stage 2 are pretty good I find

I was thinking the same on stage3...I’m 12-5-1 84.5mm b20 block.

thanks for the positive feedback on the cams, seems like a good option. 235whp on a b series is really nice!!!

Nice setup man, nice cam selection and power band. has quite a bit of power at 7000 rpm for a b18c in my opinion. any other plans for it? what exactly was done to the head?

did you actually read what I wrote it says every thing that’s done to the head. It needs new rings on number one cylinder and once it’s done gonna go back to the dyno and adjust timing gears as we dint at all and hope to be in the 250 whp range

I read that the head has work but thats not specfic and thats why I asked. Like what valve job was used etc. its making good power for a 254/248* camshaft. I wouldnt recommend BC stage 3 cams as no one has had real success with them but more with Crower Stage 3 and not Brian Crower.

I see sorry for being rude. I’m not sure what the machinist did exactly. Ik he port matched the intake manifold and header gasket he explained it on the phone but I do not remember I also got him to smooth out the skunk two intake manifolds runners abit aswell. I was told by a lot of people he is one of the best so I explained what I’m looking for and let him do his thing

i was thinking bc stage 3 it I don’t think I have the compression to take full advantage of them. I’m only at 11:6:1 I’m gonna see what iI makes after the re ring and adjusting cam gears on the dyno if I make it In the 240 whp or hit 250 I would be real happy but I would like to go a get a 3 inch exhaust on it I think

Hey, what transmission/gearing do you have? I may have a cheap idea to help make the car faster

Nice build! But i think the numbers are in Hp not whp. Because with mods you have it would be a miracle to have 235 Wheel Hp that would be something like 270 Hp. Correct me if i am wrong.

I wouldn't say *miracle* exactly, but I have a very similar build that made 200whp, albeit with UDSM ITR (P73-AO) pistons, which I believe will result in my static compression being a little lower. Dynos are all going to measure a little different, I'd say the tip off here is the 161tq with a GSR crank and at 81.5mm. You won't see torque numbers like that until you're in the 84+mm/89+mm bore/stroke range, along with very high compression.

OP, what dyno did they use?

I understand your point, but i was only saying that it would be much more likely in HP.

Again, be it crank up, brake up, or wheel up, it's based on a mathematical derivative of calculated torque. Kinda doesn't matter when different dubious are used

nice and efficient set up..
what size injectors are you using??

not trying to steal your thunder but this is my setup
81.5mm wiesco 11.5 CR pistons
Carillo pro a rods
m22xx cams
310cc injectors
it made 192 whp on mustang dyno.

I’m unsure of the dyno type . I will be going for a retune in maybe a few months to a year unfortunately but I will share numbers here

I had nearly identical setup in past, and based on that, 235hp at crank make more sense to me. But as always, powerband is more important than some peak numbers, and after all, clock tell’s is something fast or not.

Like Shodan says, enjoy the car. All of you.

how can this be a hp reading and not whp reading if it was on a standard dyno like they are a very popular shop in Ottawa when I was getting the tune done it was mid October and chilly asf witch I thought maybe played a small roll in it .. I always feel like there’s people hating on numbers . I had a lot of people tell me I wouldn’t be able to hit 230whp because it was my goal and I did

Relax, of course it's whp if dyno says that. Maybe we just use low-reading dynos or/and different correction factors here in Europe. And I don't hate (peak) numbers, I just said that they are not so important and don't tell so much, like curve shape.
