Ok so i thought you guys might now what the deal is with this chain. I've currently been building a k24/k20 motor, solely going by the k20 manual. The K20 (rsx) manual says that the timing chain has 3 dark links, which correspond with a tooth on the crankshaft, intake cam, and exhaust cam. Here's the problem. The K24 chain i'm using has two dark links for each cam gear. Which one do i go by? Hopefully you understand what i'm saying. lol the pic should help...

 

hard to tell with that pic because u have 2 links circled in each... but i believe it should be 9-10 between the dark links (for the intake and exhaust marks on cam gears).. clubrsx had a write up with no pics and said it was 9 links between the links but im pretty sure i counted 10. Either way the dark links should line up with the cam gear marks when at TDC.

the dot on your cam shaft should be between the two dark links the rsx manual you are reading is for a k20 chain which has only 3 dots like you described. What oil pump are you using in your build a type s or the k24 pump?
