Default Future of the TSX

I'm planning to purchase a TSX sometime later in life (~2 years from now). I was just wondering if there is any news from Honda if they will upgrade the engine in the car because the k24 is powerful but i think it's still underpowered.

why not turn to the aftermarket? K-series is making awsome power from aftermarket simple bolt-ons.

im sure alot of RSX parts will cross over. But if you are one of those guys who likes to keep the engine like it came from the factory... I cant help you there.

Possibly the V6 from the accord could be transplanted?

well yeah there is that route, but it's still underpowered for the price of it. cybernation turbo kit would probably cross over but for 26k and a luxury car to compete against the others, it should be a little more powered IMO

the motor has tons of potential. if the RSX is making 200whp+ with boltons think what the TSX will do with the extra .4L.

I don't know about all this potential people are talking about. Obviously there have been good results w/ the other K series based cars(DC5, EP3) but Comptech, arguablly one of the best aftermarket companies out there has had terrible results with there products so far but I know its early.

By the way if anyone else has dyno charts for TSX products besides Comptech post em.

its going to be hard for n/a K24s to make serious power due to their inability to rev - as we all know horsepower comes from rev. i bet the bottom end wouldn't last if you put a K20A2/A1 head on it as the piston speeds are reaching astronomical levels

to put it simply the long stroke (which gives it excellent torque) is the greatest limitation. i would personally go turbo

both hytech and import builders are working on de-stroker kits for the k24 engine. Hytech with a 92mm stroke, and IB with a 90.7mm... just do some searching, its not hard to find this information

keep in mind that the k24 is very over worked already. much like the f20c. engineers for the engine actually love the k24 engine because it was a challenge to design.

the remark about being "undrepowered"

one of the magazines did a test with tsx, the benz hb the sc one., and i think some other luxury 4cly

the tsx held the highest hp n/a too. the others had higher tq. overall, the tsx can outhandle most cars in its class.

i can't tell from first hand experience, but with 200hp 161tq, the car shouldn't "feel" underpowered. its what 3200lbs?

and i agree that the k20 is monster engine. pple who add like one bolt on get like 10 whp.

Keeping the R/S ratio in the 1.7 range should prove to be nice and with the DC5R head on top.....should make for a very nice K26....bored over while your at it....monster N/A motor....

The TSX is exactly what I will buy for my wife in the next year or two. K series motor, independant suspension, 6 sp tranny, great looks without even trying...classic styling.....most importantly 4 doors to pack the kids in

It having 280whp from a beefy K26 moster would make dropping the kids off at school a smile inspiring trip for all.....

I will most likely experiment with my EK first and build a DC5R/K24 block combo and see how that works out....I am not a fan of the balance shafts in the K24 but depending on how big the bore limits are on the 2.0L we may have little choice...but an EK with 270whp from the DC5R motor would still make the ol'EK a little more fun.....175whp just doesnt do it for me anymore and I would rather spend the money on a K

TSX = Smooth family hauler with LOTS of potential for 27K not a bad deal, of course the EVO wouldnt be bad either I guess lol

Save up more over the 2 years and get a TL with the 6 speed. Wonderful car.
