Battery Drain
Hi all,
I've just been stuck with a current battery issue that i've had. I've recently replaced the battery to a brand new 490cca one and I've constantly been checking the battery charge (with a car battery tester) and even after the battery change, it is still draining. Overnight, the car drops around 20% so I've tested if there is a parasitic drain and testing the amps, only 0.04/0.05 amps are being used when the engine is off. With the engine on and idling, the battery draws 14.1v and the voltage when the engine is off varies as per the charge (12.4-12.6~). Any thoughts on what the issue could be that's draining the battery.
I should also add that the car is a 2006 TSX.
TIA

I've got an aftermarket stereo but I've unplugged it and monitored the battery charge and current (it does drop the current to about 20-30 millliamps). I am removing the battery terminal and putting the multimeter in series to check the current.
I think I've found out that the battery actually drops to 12.45V and doesn't go any lower. Any thoughts on what the reason for this could be?

Had a similar issue, myself on my 08 TSX. If the car sat 12+ hrs, it would struggle to start. This started out as an intermittent issue. A couple of weeks ago, it sat for ~3 days, and the driver's display wouldn't even come on. Battery was DEAD. Battery was new. Had it charged/tested at O'Reilly's. They said it was drained to 5%. They charged it for a few hrs and tested it. Came back good.
I'd read about this issue, so figured I'd see if I could track down the BT module. Pulled the Pass side kickpanel and just pulled the green plug from the module behind it.
No more issues starting the car.
So you just disconnected it? I'm guessing you aren't using the bluetooth? My 2012 TSX is having ongoing battery problems. Autozone is telling me that the battery is fine but that honda batteries are such that I have to drive the car daily to keep it charged. That seems utterly ridiculous to me. I love the car but feel like it owns me. Driving much more than I want or need to just to keep it charged. Asked them about a trickle charger and they said you cannot hook those up to honda batteries either. I'm very frustrated.
