You can't get the code from the VIN. You have to take out your radio and get the serial # on top of the radio, but... Try this; open your glove box and look on the outside on the left (between the glove box & center dash) it should give you either the serial # or possibly the code. Try that before removing the radio.

Re: radio code
I also have 2003 TL and have the same problem (don't have NAV, though). I enter code and it won't work. Radio unit was replaced once under warranty and neither new nor original code will work. If I get responses will forward to you.

Re: radio code
my acura 2001 tl 3.2's radio still doesnt work....i use every troubleshooting that i read online and what the dealership advised me to do....i took the battery out for an hour and entered the code and it didnt work...i took out the whole radio system and disconnected the attena and it still didnt work (I really didnt want to take the whole unit out but i wanted to make sure it was the oem radio)..i also tried to park 6 levels underground and enter the code, that was a option i read off another forum...i know the code i got is correct becuase ive called 3 different dealerships and they all gave me the same code...odd that my navigation work with the code given but not the radio....please help....its been 3 weeks and the dealership isnt being helpful and they will charge me an arm and a leg just to look at it......thanks....

Re: radio code
kenny must work for a dealer? or is there someplace you can go online? i know at our dealer you have to type in the last four of your social so American Honda knows who is looking up this information. it can end up getting the employee in trouble if he gives a code out to a potentially stolen radio.

Re: radio code
Just spoke to ACS and the rep stated that it appears when the unit first booted up after the battery replacement, the chip "read" a frequency that isn't actually there. I may have not interpreted that correctly, but the fix is to take it underground or to a spot where there is no radio reception so that it will accept the code, or to disconnect the antenna. It's not a guarantee, but these are the two "fixes" as far as ACURA is concerned. It's a problem that they're aware of, but there is no factory fix. Not sounding good. Any other ideas as I'm not sure of where to disconnect the antenna, and the Lincoln Tunnel is the best shot for "no reception" and it's 35 miles in the wrong direction.

Re: radio code
hmmm? I work at a dealer and I've never heard of that. Guess it could work. Are they talking about regular radio signal or XM I wonder? Maybe try a large parking garage?!
