Default valve adjustment this weekend - need guidance

I need some guidance! I decided I was going to do my valve adjustment this weekend on my 03 si and of course ephatch has been out of commission.

I have no idea what the specs are for the intake and exhaust valves or what the torque spec is for the valves once you re-tighten them, or for the valve cover for that matter. Is there a proper order you have to tighten those down in? (I had a miata that had a specific order you had to torque the valve cover down).

I am also doing my pcv valve and maybe the serpentine belt also this weekend but think I can manage those on my own.

Help?

Ive got all the stuff to do it... well except the silicone and I am going to replace the spark plugs too - have to get those. I dont have anywhere to buy the manual - unless my local auto store has one. I live in a TINY town where everyone drives chevy trucks (lol).

Does Honda carry it?

And I have the how-to on ephatch bookmarked but its not doing me any good right now

You might be able to find an electronic copy of the Helm's manual on clubep3 or k20a.org.

I would not advise starting this without having the specs on hand.

Sweet! Thank you for the heads up on that - I downloaded it but the bad thing is I cant print it.

Ill have to write it down by hand.

But its better than nothing.

Was wondering... Why would you need "spark plus tube seals"?... If you don't change them, what could happen?

yeah my rule when working on anything is that if i take something apart that has a gasket of any kind, i always get a new one on there, besides they are inexpensive and you never know what kind of damage you can cause by removing them...

1. broski?

2. I didnt know what the SPEC was till I got the manual downloaded

3. I had everything I needed - I ended up buying silicone to put on the 4 points on the valve cover also.

#3 and #4 had slightly loose intake valves, so I tightened them up just a hair. The car seems a little more smooth.

For the drive belt do I just remove the auto tensioner pulley and then replace it once the new belt is on? The manual seems a little vague in that...
